Ah so it was Viola who inspired the writer to write that part. See this is why we need more POC as showrunners and writers. I'm not saying we cancel all the whites (but we probably should, J/K) but there should be a balance because the lead is a black woman so it should be authentic and real. I think on This Is Us (who also has a white showrunner), they did better with Randall's SL because he wasn't just on the show because they wanted to be diverse. His SL was detrimental to the show and I thought it was written well.
For HTGAWM, I do have to say this is the only show where I've seen more diversity and even if the writing's a mess, there's focus on race, women and LGBTQ. Some of the best scenes on the show were of AK in court and tearing down the justice system. __________________

Yeah, I agree.. I'm glad that they actually listened to her and decided to do that.. Plus I feel like we need more POC showrunners and writers plus they can able to listen to POC actors/actresses on what they think of this scenes or stuff like that.. But as you said, I feel like we need to balance both white/POC writers bec white people can't write for black people in talk or something like that.. I mean.. I remember the actress from the Flash, she mentioned that she didn't like the line for her role..
But I def agree w/ you that at least we can see AK as black and bisexual woman, but yet, of course we don't get focus on her relationship when there are murder from left to right.. I hope that she can get role like this again in future, but not too dark.. __________________

Which actress on The Flash and what did she say? Was it Candice Patton?
Honestly if AK wasn't played by Viola or a black woman, it wouldn't work. And yes, I would love for Viola to play another badass character on TV (with less murder this time). She's openly said on interviews that her role as AK will go down as one of her favorites. __________________

Yeah, it was Candice Patton.. Plus she mentioned about the scene that in the episodes, I think the last scene that just end, they talked about how they love salad and all that like their fav food even tho it seems that white writers don't know about black culture plus remembered one episode that she had the curly hair since she really want to put it since not most black women always have straight hair, but always have different hairstyle..
Honestly, they really need to hire black writers for POC's lines and they needed to hire black hairstylist, etc, etc, etc.. For sure.. I agree w/ you about Viola, but I think that she had more to say in this show, but want to see how it went.. Even tho you can tell that they trust Viola when it's her role.. Same here.. I hope so.. __________________

Wait, what was it about the salad? I stopped watching The Flash already.
And yes to black hairstylists, fashion stylists, etc. It's not just the writers, showrunners and cast, it should apply to the entire crew as well. __________________

In the scene, they were making the food, and they talked about their fav food that they said salad, but I can't remember if it's this season or last season..
Yup, 100% to that.. __________________

LOL. I'm the same with Asian food. Anytime I see a gathering (portrayed on TV) with no rice on the table and most of the people there are Asian, I'm like "This is false. We always have rice around."
For example on the show, Oliver's mom Joanna made lumpia (spring roll) and they were eating it with wine. I'm like "Noooo. That doesn't go together." It's like eating popcorn with wine. __________________

Yeah for sure.. I mean, I remember that they did that w/ Spanish, I was like umm.. They act we don't like to eat rice and beans, but umm.. We always eat that daily as long that can be any kind of chicken or beef or whatever it is.. But.. It show how ignorant they are like they know each culture are the same, but in reality, it's really not..
