House of Cards (Netflix) #1 - "I have no patience for useless things."

Are you kidding me??!?! Is this like the only HOC thread? :O
|
I've just been wondering the exact same thing :gone:
Anyways, what are everybody's thoughts on the new season? |
I've seen all of season 2 now. So anyone else want to discuss the show? I can't believe this is the only thread on here :(
|
Overall, did you guys think Season 2 was better than Season 1?
|
I am finally catching up on season 1 now. I absolutely love it! I don't want to be spoiled so I better stay out of here

Overall I liked season 1 better, because I somehow didn't like the whole involvement/crisis with the Chinese and how it played out...
After watching the first episode of season 2, which was one of the best episodes of HoC altogether in my view, I was totally looking forward to watching the rest, but unfortunately things became a bit far-fetched and lengthy at times. Still an amazing show though, and I'm definitely gonna watch season 3 once it's out :) |
Just finished watching S2, so now I can discuss, because I didn't want to be spoiled.
I gotta say I enjoyed S1 better, because S2 seemed rushed to me, I wasn't that invested in the chinese storyline and also because I didn't think it was difficult for Frank to get the presidency. It should have been challenging and it seemed so easy. Even with some critics, HoC is still so well written and Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are so amazing in their roles. But I want them to fall so hard  Now that he can't go anywhere higher, there's no other way... he's falling down. Frank and Claire are the perfect match, but I also think they can be their worst enemies. I suspect them drifting apart will cause more damage. Plus, I see Jackie as Frank's evil apprentice, so if I were Frank, I'd watch out. |
I finished S2 the other day and it was pretty good  Overall S1 was much better, I loved the Peter Russo storyline and I really liked Zoe - so S2 felt like it was missing something. However, Kevin and Robin are incredible. They're absolutely mesmerizing on screen. I would watch the show just to see them. But I hated the Tusk storyline and I thought the ending was very predictable.

My thoughts exactly. When they were heading to the oval office, I was like "Wait, easy like this? Something has to happen now". But it didn't. I hope S3 shows their downfall and consequences to their actions.
I didn't care for Zoe (but I didn't want her killed) and I definitely felt for Peter. Now Doug is dead, apparently, and I'm torn. Part of me wanted him alive, but his obsession with Rachel was driving me crazy. I want the poor girl to be free. Who knows what her role will be next season. She has information that could ruin Frank, but she doesn't have the resources to do so. Maybe that hacker will track her down and will try to take Frank down. |
I just hate that I predicted the finale like by episode 3. A good show surprises you!

Zoe wasn't my favorite character, but she really propelled the storyline forward. She was a huge catalyst, and then they got rid of her. And then I was so pissed about them killing Peter because he was trying to be good and they made you feel for him and then ...dead. Ugh, it still annoys me. Doug - I don't really like him, but I'm not sure I want him to be dead. The Rachel storyline is so old though. One of the weakest points of the show. But like you said, it has potential. |
Finished season one now on season two. Well hell of a way to start episode 1 season 2 : killing of Zoey . And I have a major crush on Kate Mara for the longest time.
But goes to show you Frank is so evil and power-hungry he would do anything to protect himself , as we saw not just helping kill a congressman but murdering zoey. |
Looking forward to season 3.
