Also he was doing The Good Wife that time and then he had to leave the show because his wife got pregnant so he had to go back to the UK which meant he has to take jobs in the UK so he booked Downton Abbey that time.

I know, I so wish we'd gotten him in season 7 of Good Wife, but he puts his family first and its so hard not simply admire and respect him for that!

He was in the Season 5 holiday special, where we're first introduced to him, then he's in 6.4 through to 6.9 (Christmas Special).

^ I've rewatched 1 to 4 a few times, I just started 6 again today and am on 6.5. I so forgot about Robert's Ulcer exploding during dinner and the blood!

I actually laughed watching that ep. I feel like I was watching a zombie movie or something cause it doesn't feel too Downton with that scene.

^^ It was so unexpected, but I did love it for some reason. Seeing the blood all over their 'fine things'.
It did take awhile for me to actually watch season 4 for the first time. Mostly because of the upset of the season 3 finale. I'd known before watching that Dan was leaving the show, but it was so heartbreaking. It was like I was grieving the character and couldn't watch more until I was over it. Still not over it, but accepted it I guess! |
