Helena was a recent guest at the Graham Norton Show promoting Ocean's 8 and was asked about The Crown:

Speaking about the character, she said: "I've got two weeks to prepare so I've got to find her character soon… I'm posh, but not that posh!"

If they're casting Princess Anne, who's playing Prince Charles? He's older than Anne and he's got a lot of screen time in S2 already. I think they're probably delaying it for now and will announce at a later date.
