So this episode was a hot mess.

It was a little bit. Chimney needs to return asap, I don't think this exchange of partners is working out.

Definitely the aftermath of the kidnapping is intense. What Athena did was bad with Harry, and she might not need help. Although the way her ex did it, in ambushing her in the therapist office. And ganging up against her...

In way Jeffrey is wining at the moment. She does need therapy. Harry does too. But he needs know she would not have ordinary done it.

I am glad Mae used her experience to get to the caller. Claudette was getting on my nerves. Even if she sees potential in Mae, the way she is handling is wrong.

Glad Mae stood up, and will be interesting to see what happens next.

And the mystery of Maddie's departure continues.

I agree. Athena needs therapy.

Also I agree about May! I was so proud of her at the end of the episode when she stood up to her. :D

It was a shock that Athena did hit Harry, but I feel like that hurt people's feelings more than anything. It's not a great thing to hit your kids, but she just had an impulse.
People act like she beat him or something. She slapped him. Parents sometimes tend to do that when a child says something they shouldn't. Yes, I understand he's going through a lot, but so is Athena. I don't see why they are making it seem like a bigger thing than it is.
I mean when I was a kid my mom slapped me too for something I said, so it's not uncommon.

Claudette is really annoying. Why did they bring her in? I dunno if that was explained. Is it because of Maddie not being there so they eventually got someone else?
I liked how May stood up to her too.

I hope they get Maddie back soon. Since Buck apparently seems to know where she is.

^Yes, she is going through alot and she does need help but it is never okay to slap your kid no matter what. Like it is not okay for a man to slap his wife/girlfriend, so why is it okay to slap your child?

Also in Sweden it is illegal to use physical punishment on your kid. I have grown up with this rule so every time I see in movies/tv-shows about a parent do that to their kids I see them as a bad parent and a abuser. And I think alot of other people also feel like that about Athena when it came to this scene..

All in it was a very bad episode. Written very badly and I don't think the Athena before this would have ever done it..

Jasper1975 10-21-2021 12:22 PM

Athena never would have done it normally. It is clear she needs help. She never fully healed from the original trauma to her, and then Jeffrey upped and reopened the wound. So, she does need help.

But she is not a abuser. Harry said something something extremely upsetting. And it seems like he's been influenced by their attacker, in other ways, and it provoked her. Not that it is a excuse.

She should never had done it.

Hopefully they both get help.

It's obvious Claudette was brought in because of Maddie's absence. And to provoke May in ways that brings up her past, and maybe gets her to stand up for herself.

I agree. She wouldn't have done if everything was all right. And I hope she gets the help she needs.

Just want to clear about abuser part in my last post. When I said abuser I meant in general when I hear about parents doing this. With Athena, in my opinion is at the moment just a bad parent for slapping him but it is all because of the trauma she been through. And I'm sure when she get the help she needs she will become a good parent again.

Yea, Athena slapping Harry was really the heat of the moment, and it looked like she regretted it right away. She shouldn't have done it, but Harry really shouldn't have said what he did either. :sigh: He's a kid who went through a traumatic experience, and now he's making a lot of dumb choices... I both they both get help too.

Claudette is very annoying. :pout: Saying she only wants to help May get better sounds a bit like an excuse to bully her but meh, we'll see what happens next. It was great to see May stand up for herself.

If you're talking about a man slapping a woman, then I would have to point out vice versa, a woman slapping a man.

I never said it was okay to slap your child. I said they were making it a bigger deal than it was. He wasn't bleeding, he wasn't beaten, he wasn't even crying about it that we know of. It's not okay that she did it, but it's also not a MAJOR thing either. It's the same as spanking your child. Granted Athena didn't mean to actually hurt him, it was just sudden because of his outburst. It also wasn't okay that Harry said that to/about his mother either. Words hurt people too.

Well I don't feel that way about Athena in that scene. But I do think she does need some therapy. They both do.

meraki 10-21-2021 11:27 PM

Okay..

This is so cute. :sigh: I love this for him.

Also it has been confirmed that we will get 10 episodes before the hiatus, just like how it was in season 2 and 3. The midseason finale will air at the beginning of December.
