The reason that Oliver loves Felicity is because Felicity has allowed him to get in touch with pieces of his personality and his character that he thought were long gone. What Felicity says in that final scene, and really what she and Oliver say to each other throughout the entirety of this episode, reminds us of how essential their relationship is to Arrow‘s DNA. Once again, Amell and Rickards prove that they thrive in the small moments, but also the large one’s.A long awaited episode centered on Oliver and Felicity, Amell and Rickards fell right back in sync with each other. It’s hard to imagine two people that work better together than these two. Every time they share a scene, Arrow suddenly makes sense. In both timelines, Amell and Rickards prove why they work so effortlessly together. Personally, the quiet moments are always Amell and Rickards strongest. Whether it’s a single tear down Oliver’s cheek as he tells Felicity he may enjoy killing, Oliver gently lowering Felicity down from the Salmon Ladder or even a tender hand hold when they make it out alive. It’s these moments that prove just how talented Amell and Rickards are.

Is there any pair of actors that have more chemistry than Emily Bett Rickards and Stephen Amell? The answer is probably, no. Now that Felicity and Oliver have been sharing scenes together, Arrow falls back into place. This week’s episode is the perfect callback to the early days of their relationship. When Felicity and Oliver work hand in hand and the sexual tension is palpable. We’ve enjoyed our fair share of Oliver being “dead,” Felicity in near fatal car crashes and the dio [sic] clinging to life at every turn, but it’s the genuine moments between the two of them that make us love them.

It’s hard to not enjoy these two on screen together. Whether it’s romantic or platonic, Felicity and Oliver are the essential ingredient Arrow has been missing.
