5x10 - episode discussion

OLIVER WANTS JUSTICE; FELICITY WANTS REVENGE — Worried that Prometheus is right and he is truly a killer at heart, Oliver (Stephen Amell) looks for any ray of hope and finds it in what seems to be the miraculous return of Laurel Lance (guest star Katie Cassidy). However, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), still reeling from Detective Malone’s murder, is bent on revenge – she wants to stop Prometheus at any cost. While in prison, Diggle (David Ramsey) fights for his life. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Brian Ford Sullivan.

I'm so ready for this episode to air. I can't wait to see how this all develops and how we go from potential joy at what seems to be a resurrection to devastation when they realize she's not their Laurel.

Oh I was watching live but I didn't think anybody would be here.



Always knew from the moment I saw her she was gonna be black siren and not Laurel.

I liked Curtis doubting himself and Rene acutally giving a good peo talk of sorts to Curtis about stop dwelling on what he's not good at and dwell on what he's good out.

Rene is right he does take a bit to warm up to. I thought he was annoying at first but he really grew on me. He's had some good scene with every one.

I liked the Chase and Diggle stuff. Although I have a feeling chase just might have made the general a little angry by outsmarting him and that might not be a good thing.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna like this dark arc Felicity. I was excited for her to have a meaty story line but I felt like all the achieved was highlighting the flaws especially those haters already complian about. maybe I'll just have to see and hope I wrong.

I liked the episode with Laurel "returning."

But I am not gonna be one of those people who supports every decision they make.
Hunting for a new Black Canary instead of building towards redeeming the Black Siren is a stupid idea. Really stupid. You have an Earth 2 version whos more true to the Black Canary we know how she's suppose to be. Just work on her going from evil to good and you'll be good.

The notion of redeeming E2 Laurel and finding a new Black Canary aren't mutually exclusive.

It's rather baffling how much resistance there is to the show introducing a Black Canary who isn't Laurel Lance when that's exactly what they originally did with Sara.

I know many did.. I wasn't one of the viewers who saw Sara as the Black Canary. Sara was just an original character made for the show who got a following. But not someone I called Black Canary. Highly skilled martial artist with a sonic scream device. That's not Black Canary.

Earth 2 Laurel Lance is pretty much the Black Canary from the comics. As a comic fan I would preferred this version of Laurel becoming the Black Canary. Since she does have the power of the Canary Cry and doesn't need to wear a tech device to have the ability. An issue I had with Earth 1 Laurel.

To me its just giving the people who liked Kate Cassidy and like Laurel Lance fans the middle finger. Saying you got Laurel back but we aren't gonna have that redemption arc right now nor are we gonna hint that's shes gonna be Black Canary. No we are gonna just have someone else be for now. Sorry to me that's just the wrong decision. One of many this show has done lately. I am sure they are some who don't feel that way and feel the show is making all the right moves. But for me. Decisions like that deflate interest in the season and the show overall and why I haven't been a regular viewer of the show for a good 2 years now.

Some liberties and creative decisions that are done I support and don't support on certain shows. I don't support the ones made on Arrow.

I don't think they are gonna give up on Black Siren. Oliver did say she was at Argus because he wasn't just going to give up on her. I'm gonna hold judgement until I see where that leads. I'm still hoping for a scene with Sara. Sara understands coming back from darkness more than anyone else I think. Plus Laurel gave her the pep talk to be white canary. I'd like to see her return the favor.

Katie has a contract across the board she could appear on any show. I'm crossing my fingers for Legends.

I believe Laurel from Earth 2 will turn into Black Canary, she is more similar to Dinah (Black Canary from the comics) and also she has the Canary Cry. It's difficult to see her turning into the "good" side now, but I guess her character needs development for that, and I'd be glad if they gave her time to change, I don't like rushed plots. Anyways I didn't expect this episode to move like this. It's the biggest dissapointment for season 5. I hope they take a better way to handle this.

I didn't even understand Curtis and Felicity's behaviour . Oliver is back to normal, we didn't see Thea, nor Quentin. The only good things were Rene, and Diggle with the lawyer (I still can't remember his name ). But that's my opinion, perhaps other fans enjoyed this episode much more than me.

I'm sorry, but this is hilarious to me. When Sara was brought in as a potential Black Canary, a lot of comic book fans were against it because she was a "remorseless assassin" and "Black Canary doesn't kill people." Well, I guess I must have missed the comic issues where Black Canary was portrayed like a crazed sociopath who gets off on hurting and killing people by the thousands because that's exactly what this version of Black Siren is! And yet, she is somehow worthy of the Black Canary mantel!? Btch, please. At least be honest and admit that it's all about the name (Dinah Laurel Lance) for some of you guys.

Well for some of you guys is like that but I'm not one of them Hamburgo.

I stand by statement redeeming Black Siren and her gradually redeeming herself is much better then randomly handing off to some new chick.

I understand others don't feel that way. I'm done here.

This was a really great episode! So much going on. It was great having Katie back.

Glad that it turned out to be Laurel’s “evil twin.” So much more interesting than it actually being the real Laurel lol. Though that scream was nauseating.

Oliver was being really annoying and stupid with Laurel. Felicity was right in saying it wasn’t her. It was like Oliver was trying to save Laurel and turn her into the old one. It was just weird.

Seeing Oliver and Felicity against one another was so hard to watch. MY BABIES JUST NEED TO MAKE UP. I did love to see him protecting her. Felicity punching with a straight wrist was so cute. The ending olicity scene was pretty cute.
