Apparently Joss Whedon's pen is mightier than the Mjolnir. In the latest issue of SFX magazine it is revealed that the The Avengers director was called late in the game to help solve some script issues for Alan Taylor's Thor: The Dark World.

In the latest issue of SFX magazine, Thor: The Dark World director, Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones"), reveals that when he had issues with a certain scene he turned to the creator of WB's Buffy the Vampire Slayer for some much needed help.
"Joss came in to save our lives a couple of times," laughs the director. "We had a major scene that was not working on the page at all in London, and he basically got airlifted in, like a SWAT team or something. He came down, rewrote the scene, and before he got back to his plane I sort of grabbed him and said, 'And this scene and this scene?' And he rewrote two other scenes that I thought had problems. Then finally we let go of him, he took off again, and we shot the scenes; and they were just much better and much lighter on their feet. Much more fun, much more surprising than what we had been trying to do. I can relate to guys who come out of the TV world, since that's where I come from. And being able to land and work and solve a problem quikcly... I really was grateful."

Thanks for the article! I'm curious to know what scenes he rewrote. Heard that there was also one scene they scrapped because it would have conflicted what was going to happen in Age of Ultron.

Ooooh, yay! I knew it was close to that date because it usually premieres about 4-5 days before the US release of the movie. Now I can prepare to fangirl.

The rumor for the UK premiere seems to be October 22, but I won't trust the date until it's mentioned by some trustworthy source.

I couldn't find anything, either. Only a site that seems to hold a contest to win 4 tickets to the UK premiere red carpet, but there wasn't any specific date set, they only said "End of October".

I'm both sad and relieved that there is no rumor about an Italian premiere - sad, because it's always nice to see Marvel and its star come here, relieved because I likely had no chance to attend, so no fits of envy on the horizon.
