Well, people diss things I love all the time. People can disagree all they like, but when they get to the point of trying to condemn others for having an opinion they don't like, that's when it crosses the line. People need to learn to tolerate hearing views they don't like. There's an increasing intolerance towards differing views in modern society. All too often, nobody wants to listen to anybody else's views if they're different from their own. That leads to polarized politics. Next thing you know, somebody like Trump gets elected.
I suppose you could say those of us who dislike the new Star Wars films would reply to your statement with "How would you feel if somebody destroyed something you love?" Or "How would you feel if somebody praised or celebrated the destruction of something you love?" Because that's how it feels. All sides have a right to an opinion.
Anyway, I don't want to turn a discussion of Star Wars fan trouble into an example of that trouble, so I'm going to try to let this go here. :)
