Surely Zendaya's in this film so she can be the love interest in the next film?

Given how badass the Fox X-Men movies are lately, I'd prefer that to the Mickey Mouse movies that Marvel is making.

And if Zendaya's only reason for being in this movie for all of a measly and inconsequential ten minutes was so that Disney can promote one of their Mouseketeers... Feige should be ashamed of himself. Fox movies make money without resorting to cotton candy.
Well it seems they said they're planning on making a Marvel Land in California. And they're already working on Star Wars Land. Nope Marvel being own by Disney is the best. Oh yeah FOX sure didn't have J-Law front and center in the marketing for DOFP/XMA.

You know, in my day the X-Men story in the comics was never about Mystique. She was a secondary character at best. Wolverine being big in the earlier films is ok with me, because he's been the most popular X-Man since the '70s, but Mystique's major role in the films is a bit weird. Jennifer's obvious talent and relatability make up for it a bit, but there's little of the comic book Mystique in Jennifer's portrayal.

Nope instead of getting Mystique were getting J-Law in a X-Men movie. Plus it seems she may of said she rather be in Guardians.

Would you have liked a darker Mystique?

So she plays a cameo in the first film to promote the second film? To quote Christopher Nolan, "a real movie wouldn't do that." But again, I think that Zendaya is basically little more than a Mouseketeer promo in this movie. And why call the sequel, Spider-Man: Homecoming 2? How many Homecomings can they do?

I think Marvel being compromised by Disney will do nothing but negatively affect the characters and stories, dragonfire. Marvel will never have creative freedom now that they're being controlled by the Mickey Mouse Club. The DCEU and Fox's X-Men universe could very well eclipse the MCU at that rate.

As for Mystique, her position in the X-Men films has more to do with Bryan Singer than anything else. It wasn't J-Law that put Mystique front and center in the X-Men films, dragonfire, it was Rebecca Romijn. Fox cast that first X-Men film based on what was most feasible for them at the time, and Mystique's shape-changing was similar enough to the T-1000 that they thought it would be marketable. She was basically the "CGI" character mentioned sarcastically in Deadpool; a gimmick character. It was because of her presence in the original trilogy that she ended up in the First Class trilogy. And J-Law was still an unknown actress when she got cast as Mystique as she had only just received her first Oscar nomination for Winter's Bone that year and she hadn't even been cast in The Hunger Games yet. So it's not anywhere near like what the MCU is doing with Zendaya, which is just using a Marvel movie to promote a Disney kid. And there's simply no comparing Zendaya to Jennifer Lawrence, dragonfire.

Yeah, while I don't like JLaw very much, I won't deny that she has way more talent than Zendaya.

I didn't like Romjin's Mystique. There was no depth to the character and Romjin lacks Lawrence's talent. The whole nudity thing was ridiculous. In the comics she wears CLOTHES. And in the comics she depends on trickery and her gun. She's not an unarmed combat expert. Nor did she work with Magneto in any of the comics I read. She was Nightcrawler's mother and Rogue's adopted mother. She was in an implied lesbian relationship with Destiny, an older mutant precog who was a member of the second Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, which Mystique led. That team eventually got pardoned and went to work for the government as Freedom Force. In that capacity they defeated and arrested the Avengers.

I would have preferred one generally more faithful to the comics. But Mystique was never a very important character to me in the comics. So I didn't need to have her so front and centre in the movies.

Feige/Pascal has been saying it won't be called Homecoming 2. No they won't, and I think they do let them have creative freedom. Nope out of those three the MCU is number 1. And if it wasn't for the MCU, we probably wouldn't have the DCEU and FOX's XMCU. Oh it seems Strange may be the one to team up with Peter in the sequel. If he is I wonder if the villain is Mysterio.

Yep. And I'm surprise no one is talking about the ring, and that we may get the wedding in IW1/IW2.
