The black eye make-up (?) makes you focus on the pain and tears in his eyes even more. That shot is fantastic.

In the US, we call it eye black. It's mostly worn by the (American) football players. It's a grease applied under the eyes to reduce glare (sun or stadium lights) that can impair vision. Also, with Bucky deciding to go with the eye black, he mimics his domino mask that he wears in the comics. I love that shot too. So much pain in one glance.

I knew it was called that, sort of.

Yes, I miss that mask from the comics and we've got a picture of Seb wearing a similar mask, so he would have looked great. But, I can understand why the mask is different.
