I'm expecting it to be delayed and another movie to take the spot of being the first MCU movie to release in 2020, which I'm sure was supposed to be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. I think it'll be either Black Widow, the Black Panther sequel or maybe even the Doctor Strange sequel.

Not sure I want to see a GotG 3 not directed by Gunn.

The previous two movies were great and had such a unique style, it's going to be a tall order for a new director to match it.
|
I'm expecting more shifting around since it was announced Comcast dropped out of bidding for Fox, and Disney won.

Signing a petition isn't gonna change Disney's mind. Marvel and Disney surely knew about the tweets before they hired him since it was a decade ago and it wasn't like he hid it. I wonder what happened to make them change their mind. I see the outrage that Disney is playing into the hands of right wing troll.

Well I'm disappointed that James Gunn was fired but I can understand why, those comments he made while they were made many years ago, but those were some vile and sick comments...and even though Gunn deemed them as "jokes", but they were "jokes" of very bad taste. I have to admit I'm very disappointed in Gunn, I didn't know he had made all those sick and disgusting comments. So as much as I loved Gunn's work in the first 2 GOTG movies, but to be perfectly honest, I actually support Disney's decision to fire Gunn...Roseanne Barr was fired and her show was cancelled because she made some racist remarks, so it's only fair to fire Gunn too for making offensive comments too, even despite the fact that those comments were posted many years ago. I don't think Hollywood should give certain celebs a free pass on their bad behavior just because they're liberals. Hollywood is notorious for being full of mostly liberals, and tend to have a bad reputation for its bias favouritism towards liberal celebs, and tend to discriminate against conservative celebs. I think by firing Gunn, who is a liberal, Disney is sending out a message saying that vile behavior will not be tolerated in the business regardless of whether they're liberals or conservatives.
It also infuriates me that the conservative who spearheaded this campaign against Gunn is a misogynistic hypocrite who himself had also posted many disgusting sexist comments made against women, this hypocrite is no better than Gunn  What I'm worried about now regarding GOTG3 is whether or not Gamora will still return for the sequel, even though it's already been confirmed that Zoe will be back in GOTG3 and Gunn said that she will play a big role in it, but this was before Gunn was fired...now that he is no longer involved in GOTG3, he will eventually be replaced by a new director, and this new director might not have the same ideas as Gunn, and he or she could decide not to include Gamora in the next movie. I really hope Gamora will be back because she's my fav character in the GOTG movies. |

But it seems super hypocritical of them to let him make 2 movies and then suddenly go "Oh, he said some super bad things 10 years ago and we don't want to associate with him anymore."
|
it's certainly odd that disney would fire JG for 10 y/o tasteless/disgusting Howard Stern-style shock comedy that he is clearly regretful of, but yet that tacky, orange-faced buffoon still sits in the White House, after being caught on tape saying all manner of disgusting, degrading, defamatory, and indefensible things about women, admittedly wants to sleep with his hot daughter and said so on GMA, and pays off strippers and porn stars, all of this within the last two years up to now! smh.
|
I don't condone what JG said but I agree. In general it's hypocritical. It's like all these men being fired or arrested for sexual harassment but Trump has done that and nothing is done against him. I accepted a long time ago no matter what that bigot does he will never face any consequences for it smh. That's why when they bring up his new crime of the week I don't care cause I know nothing will be done about it. He'll also be re-elected I'm sure but I hope I'm wrong.
As for Gunn, like I said I have mixed feelings. I feel he did great with the GOTG films and knows the team's dynamic and relationship. If Gamora comes back in GOTG 3 I felt that is something James should of been apart of. I wouldn't want their relationship to feel off with a new director. Don't get me wrong, Marvel knows what their doing when it comes to who they get to direct their films and in general but I feel GOTG is Gunn's baby and I am sad if he doesn't get to at least close out the trilogy. |
I agree about Trump, he is many kinds of horrible and doesn't deserve to be the president and leader of America, he has done worse things than some of these celebs yet he still gets to keep his job. Trump should be fired too...but I don't think that's going to happen because he's just too powerful now. This hypocrisy and double standards is sickening, but that's just how things are whether we like it or not.
Anyway both Chris and Zoe have now spoken out about the whole scandal: Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana break silence over firing of James Gunn | Daily Mail Online they haven't said much though and are being very discreet about the whole thing for now, which I think is a smart move from them both, because you wouldn't want to say too much now and make things worse. |
its so sad for the fandom and that is the world we live in now eveyrthing once it is out in the net can come back to bite you in the butt
and dont get started with Trump im still sad he ever became a President |

^ Those tweets are sweet, especially Sean Gunn's. People these days are quick to judge, without doing their own research into both sides of a situation, acting like redemption and forgiveness don't exist. Gunn has been repentant for his actions, unlike the misogynist who dug up the tweets just to discredit him in retaliation for attacking Trump.
|
Which that's why I wouldn't wish on any celebrities who have social media, but that was so danger that anyone can go after you..
|
After knowing a bit more about the tweets being brought up by a pro Trump person and that Disney knew about Gunn's tweets when they hired him makes me think he shouldn't of been fired. It sounds like he was targeted and Disney is being cowardly about it, especially if they knew about this years ago so why is it a problem now? WTF?

I guess this means Chris Evans better shut up too since he's been very critical of Trump and Disney has the support of Pro-Trump idiots. But maybe they'll let it slide for him since he's on his way out anyway.
|
I don't think that have to do political that Disney don't care about as long it's their right to talk about..
|
I think it also depands on what they say I dont think chris has even stepped over the line .
Why is Disney pro trump ?? |
^ Disney isn't pro trump.. I mean, if they are, they wouldn't allow to hire POC and stuff like that.. :look: I dunno where you get that info that they are..
