the thing is, they don't ever want to truly change previous movies drastically by altering timelines and negating the events of previous films, otherwise those movies become useless in the history of the MCU timelines. Marvel wants fans to buy all 22 films, 30 years from now, 50 years from now, etc. you can change little things here and there i suppose, but the primary themes of the films have to stay intact and canon, so Civil War will still happen, no matter what, no matter how much timefoolery goes on in the future. otherwise it's just an endless cycle like the Terminator films, ugh.
