I guess we can surmise the romance is Steve and Sharon, a bit icky but I'll allow it because we don't have many option really.

Why do people keep calling it icky? Weird, maybe. According to Chris Evans, in the 3 years (TFA takes place over 3 years according to Joe Johnston) Steve and Peggy knew each other, all they ever had was that one kiss. No dates, no nothing, just a lot of wasted opportunities and longing looks because he kept waiting for the right time, and it never seemed to be the right time to ask. It's not like he and Peggy are actually ex-lovers. You can't be ex-lovers if you were never in an actual relationship. Wanda and Pietro are in an incestuous relationship in the Ultimates universe and they don't get near the same amount of sht as Steve/Sharon in the MCU do, and Sharon's been onscreen for all of 5 minutes (and there's at least 70 years between Sharon/Peggy). People are down with shipping Jaime/Cersei, the Winchester brothers, the Maximoff Twins, the Dollanganger siblings, but oh no Steve/Sharon is too gross, creepy, and incestuous (which it's not since, you know, you have to be related to each other and they're not). Anyway, that's all I'm going to say about that.
