miranstarr 05-26-2016 02:39 PM

It's something happening in the comics at the moment.

Sweet Embrace 05-27-2016 11:11 AM

I think I'll need to read it.

miranstarr 05-28-2016 04:15 PM

I don't like it at all!

rpmaluki 05-29-2016 11:37 AM

Well they asked Stan what he thought about HydraCap. He said it's "crazy" but also a "good idea". Considering how comics are basically revolving doors about a small number of characters, from a writer's stand point it's a "fresh" take on the character but from a fan's point of view, it's an awful idea.

Every now and then there's a retcon that makes us go "WTH" but it always gets reset to the original. It's just a question of Marvel fast tracking that with this crazy arc because it really is crazy. The problem is people will probably never forget this misstep. Iron Man is still paying for his Civil War sins years later. Luckily for him he's always been perceived as a douche so his character assassination wasn't that big a deal considering he's sort of become the Marvel Universe flagship character (thanks to the MCU). lets hope Cap can recover from this (I personally think this is a gimmick, and not real so am hopeful he will recover).

Im kinda wondering is this all a gimmick by the writers? Then...it sounds legit and like all the fans are like backlashing!

fox24 05-29-2016 07:48 PM

Its definitely not permanent. I don't read comics so I try not to focus on it. Its not permanent

Sweet Embrace 05-30-2016 10:52 AM

Also, even though its in the comics doesn't necessarily mean it will translate to the movies.

fox24 05-30-2016 12:26 PM

I agree

miranstarr 05-31-2016 04:25 PM

No, I'm pretty sure it won't translate to the movies. It just sucks that Hydra!Steve is what people who don't read comics will remember the character for, rather than all the good he has done in the past.

Sweet Embrace 06-02-2016 04:59 AM

I guess it can be a bit hard for comic fans to understand watching the movies and feeling almost conflicted.
