all good

we need to keep discussing

i have a few questions bout the people that were missing , we know ant man and hawkeye are on house arrest , where was Valkyrie did she die? , how about the wakanda peeps Nakia and W'Kabi where were they???

madness 05-07-2018 06:59 AM

I think the Wakanda people were just running around in the background probably because they already had so many people in this movie, they couldn't put everyone in it?

Valkyrie confused me because Thor said Thanos killed half his people but then the ship blew up so is everyone dead or did half the people escape somewhere? I assume if some Asgardians are still alive, she's with them because an off-screen death would just be so disappointing.

Why Those Infinity War Trailer Scenes Aren't in the Movie | Collider

The Russos said Valkyrie escaped with the other Asgardians. I was sure that's what happened but glad they confirmed it. I definately didn't think she was dead cause they set up her character for the future in Thor Ragnorak. I loved her character in that film and I hope she is paired with Thor in the future, they had so much chemistry. Unlike Thor and Jane zzz. I was hoping Nakia would be in the film but I didn't expect her to be, maybe Lupita was too busy to film in IW. I forgot all about Scarlet Witch's accent, glad they got rid of it. Her and Quicksilver's accents in AOU were horried IMO.

madness 05-08-2018 01:38 AM

Phasing the accent out was the smartest choice. I honestly forgot she had one until I saw a clip of AOU again.

Ah thanks about Valkyrie. That's a relief. I'm all here for her and Thor. I wonder if we'll get to see them next movie and does that mean all those people weren't affected by the snap because the Asgardians were already divided by half?

miranstarr 05-08-2018 03:10 PM

The snap should only affect Earth right? I assume one has to be on Earth to be affected so she and the Asgardians who escaped should be OK. Thanos only kills one planet at a time.

Butterfly85 05-08-2018 03:14 PM

I always heard the snap affected the entire universe. I do hope she is in Avengers 4, her and Thor were a great team.

madness 05-08-2018 04:36 PM

The snap was the entire universe because that's how powerful he is now. That's why Drax, Groot,... also disappeared. I was just wondering about planets he has already been.

miranstarr 05-08-2018 08:22 PM

I keep wondering why Thanos went for murder and death rather than multiplying the food supply, but I guess you can't use logic with a mad man.

Miran yeah that's pretty much what it comes down to with Thanos.

I've seen it twice. The first time I was shocked and bit numb. The second time I was able to absorb it better. I loved it both times. I wished that some characters had more screen time, but I understand that they could only do so much and the story needed to focus on others. The characters that stood out to me were Gamora, Thor, Doctor Strange, and yes Thanos. (He's a great villain.). Being a Steve fan I really liked any moment I got of him. I especially loved the scene with Steve and Ross. The Russos did an amazing job with balancing all the characters and the story they were telling. It's definitely not a normal structured film, but it make sense for this film and it works. Having been watching these films since Iron Man this film really got to me. The deaths got to me. I think it lived up to the promise/arc they started 10 years ago. I also thought the music was really great. MCU films can be a hit or miss. Oh, I should add that I thought the romance in the film was handled nicely.
As reported by others my screening, both times, ended with silence too because it was a real shock to people. My first showing no one left the theatre at the credits. They stayed to see the after credit scene. That was a shock because at least a few people leave at my previous MCU movies. People did leave on my second showing though. I plan to see it at least one more time.

I suppose he didn't see it as a longterm solution. He did say that planets where he did this previously now thrive and just multiplying food would need to be a constant thing.

that's what I think too...while I can understand Thanos motivations for wiping out half of the universe in order to restore balance, but I think murdering trillions of innocent people in the universe is the wrong way to solve the problem. When he acquired all the Infinity stones, he literally had all the power in the universe in his hands, he could've used all of that power to create more resources to accommodate everyone in the universe. But instead he turned to mass genocides killing trillions of innocent people who did not deserve to die, which is absolutely cruel and barbaric and I am completely against it. His motive might be understandable, but his method of solving the problem is wrong.
But I heard compared to the comic version of Thanos, this version of Thanos in the MCU is still at least slightly better...I personally haven't read the comics, but I've been told that in the comics Thanos was just this insane evil murderous Titan who committed mass genocide just because he wanted to impress Lady Death. But in the MCU, Thanos is a more deeper and more complex character who actually had a genuine and understandable motive for doing what he did, he actually believes that he's doing the right thing to restore balance in the universe. While in the comics, he was just your typical very one-dimensional villain in the comics, although both versions of Thanos are still crazy madmen, but Thanos was portrayed as more sympathetic and empathetic in the MCU.
