PLEASE READ: Save the YA board - Updated Dec 4th!
 

Oh lordy, I'm sorry to say it's that time again.

The mod managers did a random post count in August, and the YA board averaged 65 posts per week, which is unfortunately way lower than the requisite 100 and we are in danger of being shut down.

This means we are now being closely watched, and at some indeterminate time in the future, there will be another post count. If we fail to make 100 again, then this board will be closed.

This, of course, is perhaps more serious than the other threats of closure we've had before. The checks this time will be unannounced, which means that if we want to keep the board, we have to post more and keep posting more indefinitely.

I know it's a big ask, but if you love YA, please come out of lurkdom and post! Check out the master list, dredge up some of our old discussion threads or open new ones; let's keep the YA board alive.

Can I add a 'this sucks'? Because that's about the only thing I can think right now. *sigh*

But we'll make it, won't we? We've been around for so long, there's no way to get rid of us! If you do the math, you'll see that we roughly need 15 posts every day. We definitely can do that. :group_hug:

So good to see you here, Payton! I saw you lurking a couple of times and wondered when you'd start posting. :)

I'd like to add I know how it feels, when your board is on the watch list, and it does 'suck' bad and can get very stressful, because you are so busy trying to keep the board alive, instead of enjoying it. I hope that doesn't happen in your case ([b]Anja, Nicky[/b/). I hope this board makes it, YA it's been here for a long time, and it deserves to be kept here :group_hug:

well 15 posts a day isn't technically that many - i'm sure more people than that come on here anyway. we gotta get some of the lurkers (of which i've noticed there are many) out of hiding!

Just seeing you all post here on this thread (and on the board) shows that we can definitely make it if we want to. It's really good to see you all, don't stop posting anytime soon. :glow:

Thank you everyone! It really means a lot to us that we still have so many people who are horrified at the thought of the board being closed down and are committing themselves to this. :glow: Please just remember that we won't know when the next check will take place; keep posting in the weeks and months to come!

The YA board closed?! :eek: We can't let that happen. This is the board that introduced me to FF and the only board I posted on for the first three months of my stay at FF. I'll try to post as much as I can in the future :)
