Jennifer Lawrence is changing Hollywood's game

The young starlet has an estimated net worth of more than $52 million and was the highest grossing actor at the box office in 2014, ahead of Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson and Mark Wahlberg, with $1.4 billion, according to Forbes.

Lawrence has at least six projects in the works, including a role in the sci-fi film "Passengers" due out in 2016. She is slated to make $20 million for the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter; $8 million more than her male co-star Chris Pratt—a feat rarely seen in Hollywood.
All 10 top spots in Forbes' annual list of highest paid Hollywood stars were men in 2014, with "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. taking the top spot with $75 million. The highest-earning woman was Sandra Bullock, banking $51 million.

Lawrence is no stranger to this pay inequality. The Sony email hack revealed that the "American Hustle" star's paycheck for that film was quite a bit smaller than her male co-stars. While Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner and Bradley Cooper all received 9 percent of the film's back-end profits, Lawrence and lead actress Amy Adams only collected 7 percent.
According to a 2014 Journal of Management Inquiry report, female movie stars see a decline in earnings after the age of 34, while their male co-stars don't see their salaries peak until 51.

Lawrence has become quite the commodity in Hollywood after her breakout role in "Winter's Bone" in 2010. The actress currently stars in two major movie franchises: "X-Men" and "The Hunger Games."
Fox's newest "X-Men" films, in which Lawrence portrays shape-shifting mutant Mystique, have grossed more than $1.1 billion globally while Lionsgate's "The Hunger Games" films have earned more than $2.3 billion in worldwide box office revenue, according to Box Office Mojo.

The "Hunger Games" star has spent a better part of the year promoting the last movie in the franchise and filming David O. Russell's "Joy," the starlet's third film with the acclaimed writer and director.
It was Lawrence's collaboration with Russell in "Silver Linings Playbook" that earned her an Academy Award for best actress in 2012 and a nomination for best supporting actress in 2013 for "American Hustle," as well as two Golden Globes and a Bafta award—Britain's version of the Oscar.

But Lawrence's empire isn't all about film. Last December she found her way onto the Billboard 100 for her rendition of "The Hanging Tree" from the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1". Debuting at number 12 on the chart, the song had sold over 1.1 million digital copies as of January 2015, according to Billboard.

Lawrence was recently named the face of Dior's new Addict Lipstick, having clinched a three-year contract extension with the luxury group last year reportedly to the tune of $15 million.

The starlet has also launched her own charity, the Lawrence Foundation, which says it supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, West End School, St. Mary's Center, Hadley Mercer and the Special Olympics.
