X-Men: First Class (2011)

Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-MEN.


X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past - to save our future.


X-Men: Apocalypse

Set largely in the 1980’s, X-Men: Apocalypse will introduce one of the very first mutants, En Sabah Nur ('The First One') a.k.a. Apocalypse and, according to director Bryan Singer, focus on the very origins of mutation itself. It will also borrow from the comic serial Age of Apocalypse and promises to introduce teenage versions of the original X-Men (Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm) and operate on the scope and scale of a disaster movie. In the words of writer Simon Kinberg: An ‘extinction level event’.


▮ Confirmed Apocalypse Information

1) Bryan Singer has returned as director.

2) The film is written by Simon Kinberg (Days of Future Past, 2015's Fantastic Four), Michael Dougherty (X2, Superman Returns), Dan Harris (X2, Superman Returns), and Bryan Singer.

3) X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine are no longer a part of the timeline going forward.

4) The film will be set in 1983 (10 years after the events of the 'First Class' segment of Days of Future Past) and "will complete a trilogy that began with X-Men: First Class," according to Kinberg. The film will also feature "sequences that take place in ancient times.”.

5) Apocalypse (also known as En Sabah Nur or "the first one") will act as the main antagonist and is portrayed by Oscar Isaac. Kinberg describes Apocalypse as "the darkest villain of the series"

6) The confirmed cast for the film is as follows:




7) The movie will complete the first arcs of Charles, Eric, Raven, and Hank, who will feature as the central characters.

8) According to Singer, “It will also address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”

9) According to Kinberg, this will contain more mass destruction than any of the previous X-Films: "We've spent the most time talking about is creating a character that's the most powerful mutant villain that we've seen in the X-Men movies so far - more powerful than Magneto or the Phoenix! The kind of scope and scale we're talking about is like a disaster movie featuring an extinction-level event. We're talking Michael Bay/Roland Emmerich-style moviemaking, which you've never seen in an X-Men movie, or any superhero movie."

10) Rose Byrne will return as Moira MacTaggert. Kinberg states: "Moira is back in a big way, this is a chance to do something we haven't seen before -- a proper Charles Xavier love story."

11) Principal photography commenced April 28, 2015 at Mel's Studio in Montreal, Canada. The same studio was used for Days of Future Past. Other filming locations include:

Plaza Côte-des-Neiges (Shopping Mall in Montreal) - April 25th-April 30th
Fonderie Laperle (Manhole Factory) - Saint-Ours, Quebec - May 2nd-May 8th
John Abbot College - May 19th- ??
Vieux-Port de Montréal

12) The production title for the film is AKKABA.

13) Louise Mingenbach (X-Men, X2, Days of Future Past) returns as costume designer.

14) Grant Major (Lord of the Rings Trilogy) is the new production designer.

15) John Ottman will return to score and edit the film.

16) John Dykstra (Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope, X-Men: First Class, Spider-Man 2) returns as visual effects supervisor.

17) Like its predecessor, the film will be shot in native stereo 3D.

18) X-Men: Apocalypse will be released May 27, 2016
