Aurora was heading 120 years into the future for a story and adventure on Homestead 2 for a year. clearly, she had little connection to the world she was leaving behind, and would have even less 250 years later. no matter how shady Jim's decision was, she was able to live a life of adventure on a beautiful starship, seeing the universe as no one else could because they all spent their travel years in suspended animation in a lifepod. Aurora got to see the universe on a daily basis. once she realized that fate/destiny played a hand in Jim choosing her over 2,400 women in pods, of 5,000 people aboard, and that if he in his stir crazy mania, hadn't woken her up, they all would have died two years later when the fusion reactor went critical and destroyed the Avalon. Aurora got her story, got to live that story with a man who loved her, and got to leave that story for future generations who not only read it, they got to actually see their life on board for 50-70 years. you couldn't ask for better book promotion than that. Aurora and Jim saved the lives of 5,000 passengers, including themselves, and 256 crew, as Deck Chief Gus Mancuso, also died valiantly aiding Aurora and Jim. those three were heroes of the future. rest in peace, Gus. __________________
