I will post more thoughts on Mary in the CS tomorrow. But overall I did love all her scenes.

It was a long wait before Matthew/Henry showed his face in the episode, just a few scenes wasn't nearly enough, I was hoping he might have been back at Downton for the last scenes round the tree, shame he missed Mary's singing, that was a really nice moment.

Yes, like you I was hoping Henry would make a surprise appearance at Downton but I didn't get my hopes too high seeing as it would take another extra day for Matthew Goode to shoot in another location and he might not have the time.

Yes, it was heart-breaking when they lost Sybil, she'd probably be telling Mary and Edith to kiss and make-up by now.
