You're welcome! As far as the thread title goes, it isn't often Violet pays Isobel a compliment so it's fitting to put it front and center. I really agree with Violet's assessment. Isobel is a good woman. She can go overboard sometimes but her heart is always in the right place. She definitely cares about and for people and has a huge heart.

That's true, Isobel's heart is always in the right place. She means well and goes out of her way to help.
Btw, have you done something different with the OP? I like it. __________________

Thanks for the new thread Lauren, I agree Isobel's heart is always in the right place, and Penelope Wilton plays her beautifully, plus her scenes with Violet/Maggie are so wonderful to watch.
Can I be added too please. |

I've added you both. I can't believe both of you aren't on the list yet! You've been posting here for quite sometime.

I like that you included those Matthew scenes as well as her happy moments with the Crawley family & Dr. Clarkson.

I find that happens to me a lot when I forget to ask to be added and then way later, a new thread is started and I only realize then that I didn't
Lauren, I noticed the partitioning of her relationships and I love the way you did it Thanks for posting the tidbit and picture! |

I'm so looking forward to Isobel's SL in S5. I enjoyed her SL in S4, mostly the ones with Violet and I liked her SL more in S4 than in S3.

"It’s the story of mothers all over the world whose children disappear. And the mothers fight on. Once you have a child you don’t come first anymore… So it’s that story really."

I really like this character, although I wish JF had spent more time on how she (and Mary) handled the death of Matthew.
It's the norm to see the grieving widow, but I was more interested to see how Isobel is handling it. Her line ' I'm not a mother anymore, I'm not anything, really' was so profound and grief stricken, I wonder how she handled losing her only child. (And, her current living conditions are solely due to her son being the future Earl, and since he is no longer living, that's an interesting topic to explore as well). |
