The Future of The Lying Game Board *Farewell*
 

Hello, TLG fans! :wave: As most of you know, it was announced that ABCFamily has officially cancelled "The Lying Game". This means that there will be no more new episodes and most of the cast have already moved on to other projects. What this means for the board, however, is still up in the air. The mods would like to hear from you guys (the posters) on if you would like to continue posting here (despite the lack of episode discussions) or if you think we should voluntary close the board now before it gets to be too much of a burden and hassle for the mods to maintain. Nothing has been decided, or will be decided, 'til we hear from you and what you would like to see for the future of the TLG board. Even though there will be no more episode discussions, there are still the cast appreciation threads and we can always remember "the good times" in the character and couple appreciation threads. Please let us know what you would like to see/do and the moderators will take all your advice and opinions into consideration when deciding what the next step should be! :) Thank you!

Hey :hug: So sad to hear the news. I think the decision is up to you guys, if you decide to keep the board I will definitely stop by and put it my thoughts here and then :nod: Although, I do believe it will be really tough to keep discussions going :shrug:

We can always play games and hangman and support the cast still :nod:

Thanks for your input! Some boards can thrive long after a show is gone and others don't, so I really think it all depends on how committed the posters are. No pressure on you guys, but I think we might just have to take things one day at a time. :lol:

Thanks for creating this thread Jessica! I've really enjoyed this board, it became a part of my life. I've never been so excited about anything as I was about the show, the campaign and then getting the board. I'm really sad that they will not make anymore episodes. I also know how difficult it has been to keep the board active during some of our long hiatuses, even though we have amazing and dedicated posters. It will take a group effort, so we really need to hear from everyone how they feel about it.

I would love to keep posting, I have met several very nice people here and I think we can come up with some activities or fanfic if possible here? I just think we can try and see how it goes? :)

Maybe a weekly episode of our own?? where we continue where it left off???

Hi, sorry I haven't been around. I've been sick and I'm recovering from surgery.

We can still do the episode thing. I'll need help since I'm in no position to do it on my own,but I think if we do it ourselves,we can get answers. I really don't get why the show was canceled. Was it b/c no one aside from Alex was coming back or what? I should have known that TC signed his contract for a good reason,but I figured that Adrian and Charisma would stay.

Sure, I'm not the best for facts but I can help research/ gather facts... IDK and I enjoy making graphics so and I'm pretty organized so LOL anyway I can help :)

Thanks for all the input, everyone! As of right now, the board will stay open, but Jerry is moving it to the Past category on Sunday, so don't freak out if you look for the board under Present and it's not there anymore. :lol: Just check the Past category. :)

I like this board.

I think Jerry is going to wait a week or so before moving the board to the past category to give us a chance to figure out what we are going to do, and to let things settle out. The fact that ABC Family basically didn't announce the cancellation, there was no press release, only a tweet from Alexandra, and then other cast members, it is impossible for us to know what happened or why. The rumors of petitions to get it reinstated, or netflix picking it up are also confusing the issue.

I don't know if the show will continue to air overseas, or if they will release the episodes on DVD, or even make them available again online. They way they have quarantined the show has made it difficult to even do rewatches.

Still, I know you guys love this board, but I don't know if we will have enough support, if enough people will have the time to come here to post. THis is what we need to know. So if you chat on other boards with any TLG posters that haven't been around, please let them know so they can come here and express their opinion.
