Well, let's imagine.... Dan knows the secret, and met Sutton and thanked her for revealing the heart/locket information. Which was evidence pointing to Rebecca right, but she claimed it was stolen.

I think that Ethan also maybe finally lost all passion for Sutton at the end. what was originally attraction, then frustration, then guilt, anger, and annoyance when he fell in love with Emma, I think finallly all feeling for Sutton is burned up after all that has happened. He seems to just feel objective now, and that is a good thing for Emma. If she can trust him, if he can't be manipulated by Sutton anymore, then Ethan and Emma can finally settle back into trust.
