I've been reading the threads for a while but finally decided to join so I could throw in my two cents.

I'm a huge Bamon fan but honestly I don't think they'll ever have more than a close friendship. Damon is crazy about Elena. In fact past Bamon scenes have only been initiated because Damon was desperately trying to keep Elena happy.

IMO the quality of TVD has drastically deteriorated. I think the reason Plec has finally given a little screen time to Bamon now is because she knows there is a loyal fan-base that will keep watching for the promise of scenes.

If theres any chance of them happening it would have to be in this season or the next cause not sure how much longer the show will continue.

Not sure that's the reason cause she's always known about the Bamon fan base and did little to nothing in pervious seasons just so happen DB finally have a SL together and people are seeing the chemistry between the two. These head writers have been dead set on DE no matter what tho.

I have to agree with you on that.:shrug: If it was about the fanbase, Bamon would've gotten started during Season 2.:lol: Cause I remember even during Season 1, JP getting Bamon questions... Kat Graham also got one when they asked her about the relationship from the books. During Season 2, was the first time I think Ian was asked about it.:nod:
So they showrunners have known for quite awhile that Bamon fan base was pretty big they just always wanted to ignore it and shove the triangle or DE down our throats.:shrug:

I don't have any idea though if the writers expected all the feedback.:lol:
Then again... if the rumors about them getting cut from having more scenes through Season 2 because of their chemistry & because the show was all about the triangle was true then they did expect the positive feedback and decided to finally capitalize on it now.:shrug:

For me JP and Co. is a bit full of it because I always wondered to myself, what if Stefan/Bonnie were the popular relationship from the books? I actually believed they would've been did that relationship. I think the writers are just too obsessed with DE, so any other love interest with Damon is painful for them so they'd have an easier fun time writing Stefan falling in love with someone else, rather than Damon doing so.

Agree with all that, especially the last part. Cause it's so obvious when we watch the show.

And the Bamon fans are not dumb, they stopped watching before when the funny business started ND they will stop again.

Yeah, I don't think Damon will ever fall for somebody else. Didn't JP also say something like that at Comic-Con?

And that shows you how pathetic tptb are.

If Elena had half a brain, which we know she doesn't when around Damon, she would question WHY Damon is so obsessed with her. He's been trying to make her into the version of Katherine who loves him. But, really, she's only become a sanctimonious and lame weaker-sauce version of Damon.

I guess the only good thing about Bamon not becoming romantic this season is that fanfics will be paid more attention, and we will eventually get an influx of Bamon-y goodness. In other worlds, fanfic writers will show Plec and Dries how it's done.

I have absolutely loved all of the Bamon scenes this season. They have such a natural chemistry. They would be fire if TPTB would have the guts to pair them together. I saw a quote from Ian that suggested that the writers still do not want to go there. I will never understand the DE obsession or the lack of Bonnie appreciation.

When the head writers(JP) is leader of the Damon/DE fan club it makes just that much harder to happen:shrug:

Too bad it wasn't S/B relationship as strong as Bamon in the books, I'm like 100% positive we would've been got that pairing. No doubt about it.

Still putting a lot of the blame on KW... because of him leaving, that made Caroline Dries as the one in charge with JP.:shrug: So instead of having one DE shipper, you have two and Dries is way worst. At least with KW around, he was partial. You can't have two showrunners so obviously on the same side of the coin.

Damon is obsessed with Elena because she looks like Katherine and she actually loves him. He was obsessed with Katherine for 145 years, but she didn't love him so to have a Katherine look a like who actually loves him, of course that'd make him pleased.

Yeah... I still believe the fanfics will be better than the show but I do trust in seeing a great Bamon bond this season.

Such a shame.
