At the convention Ian said he loves Bonnie more than anyone realizes. The only other person he probably loves as much is Stefan.

No he didn't.

In general though hasn't Ian always been against DE... and it's not even a Nian thing, even when they were dating he disliked Elena's relationship with both brothers. Whereas with Bonnie, he's always loved it. lol

Seems like Ian mixing the Damon up with Book!Damon?

I wish the writers would listen because it's not fun watching a love story of Damon and the girlfriend in the coffin.

Someone on one of the reviews to TVD made me dislike it more because she chatted about the double standard. She said that if Damon was a woman and he was in love with a man in the coffin, people would call her pathetic and weak but when a guy does it it's okay...
I agree. If this were Elena in love with Damon while he was in the coffin, everyone would say she's weak and she needs to be stronger...

They sure would which is why it shouldn't be okay for a 150+ year old vampire to be doing it.

However, it's true to Damon's character, he did wait for Katherine for 145 years....

Yeah it is very in character and I guess that is also some of the appeal of Damons character because he is a one woman kinda guy.

I can see the appeal but I think I would've seen it and loved it more if Elena wasn't the doppelganger....
I think that's a huge reason I loved Bamon in the books because we got to see Damon fall in love for someone completely opposite from Katherine.

It made the love more real to me.

More similar to Bonnie? definitely not.

Katherine refusing to choose between the brothers lead to a rivalry to the death for her selifish a$$.

... However, at least she didn't want them to fight so she "killed herself" hoping it would repair things between the brothers.
However, that did nothing and they stabbed each other and of course became vampires because of the blood Katherine fed them during her different relationship with both of them.

Also if I remember correctly Katherine is the reason why the brothers met Elena in the book and Katherine thought that the brothers would feel sadness if they met Elena (because Elena was Katherine doppelganger) but instead her plan backfired and Stefan fell in love and Damon became obsessed with Elena. lol

Also in the books Klaus cared a lot more than Katherine than Klaus in the show ever did...

Oh sorry I thought I remembered how Katherine had a sweet character and was naive at first. But of course the brother situation didn't make it look like this.

I didn't hate Katherine in the books...
She did have her sweet moments.

I mean she didn't even like the brothers fighting over here, and of course the Katherine from the show didn't mind it.
