I'm not sure if this is a friendship or shipper thread but I'll go ahead and just say what I think of these two

When 5B was airing, I loved how these two were hanging out together and bonding over their broken hearts. I've always found Travis to be such a sweetheart and after the incident with Tank, he was so concerned for Bay it was touching. I love how much he cares about her.
But, I had hoped they wouldn't try to be put together romantically not just because I think Emmett is a good fit for her but because I just have a hard time seeing Bay happy with Travis. And it's nothing against him, I just think he is not Bay's type if that makes sense? I hope it's okay to say that in here, I completely respect and understand those who ship these two. It's a sweet idea, they are great characters!

I just admire them as friends though, they are too perfect as friends

I just hope that if these two don't end up together that they won't end their friendship or drift apart but I know this tends to happen when there are feelings involved but just hoping it won't happen with their friendship.

I think if Bay is happy with Travis though, I can get on board probably. I just need to see more if I wil ever be convinced

Most of us that discuss them talk about them as both friends and possible ship. I don't think any of us officially ship them (yet). It's mostly a wait and see for them because we can see something there, we just don't know how it will play out. So all opinions of all sorts are welcome on this thread (as I'm sure all threads, except if you get a little down on the B/E thread...that's the culture on that thread not that it's a bad thing).

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I think their friendship is very lovely too! I don't know how much Travis will be in the last few episodes so everything we discussed in this thread may be moot.

I do feel the writers did a nice job building a sincere friendship between the two characters during Season 4B.

Theoretically, I believe that I am supposed to feel they are sincere. I can't figure out why I don't.

I'm not sure if it is that the actor, Ryan Lane, hasn't convinced me, or if something is missing in the script. For some reason, I am just not convinced that Travis has fallen in love with Bay. I see an infatuation, but I don't see love. I just don't see it.

And although I believe the character of Bay enjoys passionate kisses, and I even believe she enjoyed Travis's passionate kiss, I don't see her having any romantic or sexual feelings for Travis. I could see her trying to date him, when the TV series returns, but if so, I'll be saying, "Good luck with that," because I don't see Travis holding a candle to Emmett. That's strictly my personal bias, though.

Yep! I agree!

I wish Switched at Birth would allow characters to be friends. It seems something always messes up the friendships on this show.

Even when friends finally work through their conflicts, like Daphne and Simone OR Daphne and Sharee OR Bay and Natalie OR Bay and Tess, the friend fades away.

And other than Kathryn and Renzo, I don't think any male and female friendships have remained friendships. They've all turned romantic.

Maybe that's true to life. I don't know.

It's just speculation, but from everything I am seeing and hearing in social media, I get the feeling that Travis will be a HUGE major player in all of Season 5, right up until the end.

I believe the writers are doing everything in their power to give Travis the starring and more prominent leading-man role over Emmett, without actually making Ryan Lane a series regular.

Ryan Lane may only be a recurring actor, but his role on Switched at Birth has become affluential because of the writers fondness for him.

All signs are pointing to him being the most important character of Season 5, and I am trying to be positive. If there is anyone here in love with the character, could you tell me what it is that you adore about Travis?

To me, his best feature was always his sincerity, but making a move on his brother's girlfriend feels disingenuous. I wish, for once, the writers would allow Bay to be friends with a guy. Daphne has been able to stay friends with Emmett for a long time. I'd like Bay to have a guy friend, too.
