What about you? Where would you go if you had to pick three places?

I would choose 1) Hollywood, California, 2) Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, and 3) O'ahu, Hawaii.

Hahaha I was just at the first two this summer. I still need to go to Hawaii but I have it below Guam. I think that would be the better of the two places to go. I want to go near the volcanos in Hawaii though!

What did you think about the Grand Canyon? I've heard seeing it can change your life.

Did you do anything cool in Hollywood? I love the romance of old-time Hollywood. I'm sure it's not that way anymore, but I still love the stories. When I go to Walt Disney World and visit Hollywood Studios, I love to soak up that old-time ambiance. I gaze at the palm trees and the neon lights. I imagine a rags-to-riches world of movie stars and agents. I love it.

I liked the Grand Canyon. Some of the entrances are better than the others, so you should research that first! I wouldn't say it was life changing but it's really beautiful and expansive!
I didn't think Hollywood was that great. I'm not a big fan of LA in general. Going up to the observatory at Griffith Park to see the city and Hollywood sign is cool, though.

I researched Guam after your last post, and it sounds AMAZING. Looking at the pictures and reading about the culture on this webpage makes me want to go there next:

The food looks really good, too!

Hey

Yeah, I've been dreaming of Guam for almost 10 years now. I really would love to work there but the university doesn't have my field, otherwise I would try to get a job there! I really like to see beautiful and expansive places so my list really includes a lot of that. The world is so amazing and beautiful that if I could get my way, I would travel everywhere and see everything!

Guam did shoot to the top of my list, and I never even would have considered it, if not for you suggesting it, Kassie. Thank you for that!

It looks amazing. From the little research that I did in the last few days, the people of Guam seem friendly, the culture seems lovely, and the scenery (and the food) looks amazing.

I'm sold. I just wish it wasn't so far away. Maybe I could plan to go as an add-on to a trip to the West Coast one day. I need to see if I can get my family to go, too. I have a sister and brother-in-law 20 years older than me, and a nephew (and his girlfriend) who are my age. We need to all go to Guam! My daughter would love it.

Haven't been to LA, but San Francisco was nice when I was there last year. I do also want to go to the Grand Canyon.

I wasn't too impressed with Las Vegas, but then again, I'm not a big gambler nor a big drinker. We did see a show and that was nice.

My husband just told me he wants to go to Norway. I forgot why he said he did though.

I really do want to travel one day. I'm a big photography buff. I think I got that from my father. He loved photography and actually used to develop his own slides. Anyway, he was in the army and he was stationed all over the place. I love looking at the old black and whites of him in Germany and whatnot. He said he got to spend his 21st birthday in Paris, which I thought was cool.

I wish I can travel more

That IS cool. I spent my 21st birthday in Georgetown, Washington D.C., but Paris would have been even better.

It is! What type of work are you looking for?

Slayerfan714 02-06-2016 09:42 AM

It really is...

It's frustrating and takes a toll on your self-esteem. I'd rather actually get a rejection as opposed to hearing nothing. And most of the time, there isn't anyone to follow up with as it's all through websites anyway.

lavitaebella 02-06-2016 09:15 PM

Thanks for the new thread! :D I wish they had a mobile version of this site, because I'm on my phone 90% of the time...

Anyway, I totally know what you mean about job-hunting taking a toll on your self esteem. :( Part of the reason I'm not looking for a second job while also in school is because I don't think I could take much more rejection. (That and I don't think I'd have time for another job while also going to school full-time.) And yeah, a lot of the rejection is done over the internet, mostly via email for the library profession. I hate getting rejection emails, because for a split second, there's hope, then nothing...

But I wish you the best of luck in job hunting! You can totally crush it, I did not mean to bring the negativity.
