Looking at the OP makes me miss Bay from those days. I felt like I understood her character better back then. I knew her struggles.

Nowadays, I am not sure what Bay's struggles might be. I see her trying to be a tattoo artist, but I have no idea what she feels about it.

I used to intuitively know everything Bay was feeling. I wonder how that disappeared.

I don't find it to be a bad career choice for Bay. However, when I compare Bay becoming a tattoo artist t to Daphne becoming a doctor, it doesn't feel very balanced.

Is there a message in that? If so, what's the message?

I guess I hoped for something more exciting for Bay than a career as a tattoo artist.

Daphne would have been in jail because of her 2nd felony, with minimal job prospects after she got out, and Bay would have gone to art school.

I would love to be an artist, but I would never want to be a tattoo artist. It isn't a career I would ever choose for Bay either. I wish the writers would have written a different story for Bay. Or if the writers are committed to the tattoo route, then they should have gone into that story with more depth. They should have explained the tattoo world, as described in this article:

Otherwise, it seems as though Bay got the short end of the stick, yet again.

I honestly don't mind the tattoo artist story. I just wish she would also pursue other art as well. But at least she is doing something.

I don't mind it either. It could even be somewhat noble of a profession, if she devotes herself to helping people with scars, etc. It just is not what I envisioned for Bay. I imagined her being more creative than that and doing things other than using flesh as her canvas.

But it is in keeping with her character. She started out as a street artist. It's cool. She is cool. Bay probably feels at home in that world, and Bay is a character who does not feel at home in very many places.

I still wanted a more traditional life for Bay, in keeping with her Kennish upbringing, but this profession feels right for her. I could see it being a good fit for the person she is when partnered with Travis. It fits with her conception of self as a convicted felon. It fits with a lot of things that have happened to Bay since she took the fall for Daphne.

I guess that is how Bay found her identity.

I'm fine with Bay being a tattoo artist. Her habit of making impulsive decisions without thinking about the other people being affected by them is starting to annoy me though.

I agree with you. Daphne had every right to be irked at Bay just letting move in without even talking to her first. I was gad that Daphne got to experience how Bay makes bad choices without thinking first. Daphne was right, Ally is a stranger and they do not know her that well. Angelo's heart or not doesn't change the fact that you shouldn't be trusting someone you just met.
