Toby and the new teacher look more like students than Daphne to me at this point, who's looking 30 years old lately.

Tank looks about 35 and way too old for Bay. I like him fine, but I'm over his whining.

Does Sean Berdy no longer want to be on this show?

I can't with Daphne anymore. I think I hate her.

The new teacher and Toby were the highlight, I think their cute.

americanamuchacha020 07-28-2014 06:42 PM

It's like whatever, I'm over the show.

Wes&FredFan 07-28-2014 06:50 PM

I've long ago given up shipping anybody on this show. While I never shipped Emmett/Bay together, I've had this happen to me with other couples I've shipped ... and it sucks when you're let down so much.

I just got home but the reactions....I might put off watching it until I feel better since I'm not in a good headspace emotionally.

are you on twitter?

Slayerfan714 07-28-2014 07:22 PM

I am. I know what happened from the twitter feeds and friends and I'm just not in the mood to actually watch.

Hahaha I feel like the fact that I shipped them has cursed them in the show...sorry guys. It's like this for every couple I ship (Veronica/Logan was like 16 out of 64 episodes and don't get me started on Pacey/Joey). I've just come to expect this from writers now. It seems the formula is "the more epic the relationship=the more drama and less screen time it gets)". We'll probably get a few more breakups between the two of them. I can't imagine Emmett being happy that Bay told Tank about her health concerns before him.

On a more episode specific commentary: I love the return to Tank/Bay friendship. I totally love them as friends. Lilly and Toby seemed too rushed to me. I don't think it was really realistic for either characters. It felt like the writers were screaming "believe in their chemistry...believe it!" And sorry, I don't believe it. On another note, I think I would have liked a little more time with J&K. All of their kids are floundering now and that's got to be hard. They must be trying to figure out what to do to help. I imaging they're feeling helpless. *sigh* And then when they find out about Bay's appointment--if she doesn't tell them first--they'll feel even worse. On that subject, I'll be a bit annoyed if Bay gets right in to see the doctor...that never happens. And if this doctor is a specialist, I highly doubt her parents' insurance will be too happy (she needs a referral)...but maybe I'm getting too realistic. But this is what parents are for! To help children navigate the terribleness that is the healthcare system!

Final note: The preview for the next episode was crazy.

Eh.. I liked Daphne and Nacho, they have some good chemistry but I wish it was under better circumstances

bemmett4life 07-28-2014 08:27 PM

I like Bay and Tank as friends, nothing more. But I don't think Emmett is comfortable with them being friends, and honestly, I wouldn't be in that situation either. I mean, they really have no romantic chemistry together...at all.

Wes&FredFan 07-28-2014 08:36 PM

I'm thrilled Bay/Tank are friends again. Given the circumstances, Emmett can't really demand that she stop being Tank's friend. I mean, she and Emmett were friends after their breakup. If he said that he had a problem with it ... eh, it would seem hypocritical, that's all. It would be OOC for Emmett to pass that judgement. He might feel awkward about it, but it's not for him to tell her which friends she can have.

Actually, the way that Tank forgave Bay for what she did to him is what I expected Bay to do for Emmett two years ago. Sure, you get upset (as Tank did), you blow off a little steam (as Tank did, too), but then you realize that people are more important than holding a grudge. It was nice to see Tank reach that place so quickly!

I'm proud of Tank. He showed himself to be the better person in the end.

In fact, Tank was SO good (standing up to his dad, defending Bay's honor, being the shoulder to cry on over her health problems, offering his platonic friendship and GOOD advice) that it almost seemed out of character for the drunk, frat boy. But okay, I'll go with it. Perhaps he has two sides. He HAS shown us both from the very beginning, so it's possible.

Kudos to Tank. He may just be Mr. Right, after all.

And here Bay was telling John just a few episodes ago that she did not think Tank would ever forgive her. Worrying about that was a waste of her time, because it is obvious that he has and that they have moved beyond it into a meaningful friendship.

Ah, being a hypocrite is no big deal. Most people are at some point in their lives.

But it really doesn't matter whether Emmett tells Bay to NOT be Tank's friend. (And I suspect he won't ask that.) The damage is already done to Bay & Emmett's relationship.

Whether Bay and Tank are friends for the rest of their lives or not, Bay chose to emotionally betray Emmett tonight.

Which that's fine, too. Bay is young, and she doesn't owe Emmett that level of intimacy yet. I just wish that the show wouldn't give Bay & Emmett fans lines like, "You'll always have me," if Bay doesn't really mean it. But I suppose that is real life, too.

Based on what we saw tonight, Bay and Emmett are not that close.

Emmett got into Gallaudet. He should go and enjoy it. He cheated himself out of two good years of his life, because he was lovesick over Bay. And this will give the writers a solid opportunity to write Sean Berdy off the show in a believable way, while still leaving a door open to the possibility of visits from Emmett.

Once Emmett is out of the way, then Bay can explore who she is and what she wants, too. I would enjoy Bay's story more without worrying about whether or not she may have a scene with Emmett. Bay's not that attached to Emmett.

I would like to see Bay with someone she DOES depend on. She's 18. It's time Bay stopped calling on her mom, dad, and Toby, and started building relationships with adult friends. Bay didn't turn to her boyfriend Noah when she was worried about Regina's drinking. Bay didn't turn to her boyfriend Ty, when her father had a heart attack, and Bay isn't turning to her boyfriend Emmett, now that she is rejected from Pratt and has a medical condition.

I want to see Bay find a relationship where she is NOT scared to open up to her partner. That's intimacy.

As long as Emmett is on the show, I cannot enjoy Bay's romantic relationships with other men. I would like to enjoy them for a change.

bemmett4life 07-29-2014 01:39 AM

If they write Sean out, I'm really done.

Tank is too back and forth for me. His personality does a complete 180 every 5 minute. The reaction you get from him is never predictable. I mean...I just don't like him. I don't trust him.

This episode killed the show for me. My heart mourns the loss. Sean is an amazing actor and I miss his good, quality scenes. Bay and Emmett to me were endgame. I don't want to be apart of it anymore though. I'm not sure how we can go from an episode like 3x14 to this...they were bemmett in 3x14...I'm not sure who they were in this episode. Bay completely got wrapped up in her guilt of cheating on Tank and betrayed Emmett tonight. Trying to get ratings is one thing...but to destroy the best thing they've ever created, it's ridiculous. At this point, I don't want a season 4. I fell in love with the show because of Bemmett.

It was a good episode, full of drama. Of course, I was disappointed by the fight between Bay and Emmett and annoyed that she choose to talk to Tank rather than Emmett :( but I didn't get bored a single minute in this episode (it isn't always the case).

I am happy we had scenes with Melody and deafness was one of the themes of this episode. The reason I watched SAB is because of the deaf community. I expected that Travis would go to College. Actually, I thought he would be the only one. Hopefully, he gets a place last minute if Daphne doesn't go.

I find Daphne out of character. I can't believe she really went so far as sabotaging her mother. I have the feeling she's not only angry about Angelo's death, but also about the fact Regina didn't reveal the switch.

I don't go with it. He was totally out of character, as you say. It looks like writers are going to make him the new Emmett, someone who she could bond with and talk to. He wasn't at all like that before.

What make you think that she betrayed him ? It is not such a big deal that she went to that dinner. They may get over that (if the writers want to). It's not like they broke up, they are still a couple. Drama make shows more interesting, otherwise
I think she really meant that he'll always have her and it is still the case. At least, I hope. They aren't very close at the moment, but actually they are quite close (in general) compared to many teenagers. It is what make me believe they'll be together for long. Even if they break up, I can imagine them finding each other again in 5 or even 10 years, when they are more mature, and be a couple again.

Actually, it wouldn't be hypocritical, it would be very sincere. Hypocrisy would be to pretend he doesn't care and is ok with that.

bemmett4life 07-29-2014 07:59 AM

Tank was very OOC last night. And that's why I don't trust him. He's one way the this minute and another way the next. And it was very OOC of Bay to not tell Emmett her medical crisis. She tells him everything...even when they weren't together...no matter who she was dating, she was always going back to him to confide in him. I miss THAT.

AnneH 07-29-2014 08:46 AM

I wouldn't say bay is ~betraying Emmett.

bay said that seeing a doctor would make it real so she's probably scared to talk about it with him. Or her parents.

But the fact she chooses tank of all people to confide in first just didn't ring true to me.

I hope bay will open up to Emmett after her doctor apt. I don't like when they feel emotionally disconnected.
