it was just a dream :(

wild sage growing 03-22-2015 11:53 PM

You guuuuuuys, can we TALK about that dream and all of its significance?

I'm freaking out alone over here!

Aw, LC!!

Well, I am going to just repost what I posted in the other thread because I'm too tired now to think up something new and this is basically my first reaction to the ep.

Wow, I did not for a second see it coming that it was the EQ who Regina saw in her dream.... that was AWESOME! I love surprises like that. I totally love it as a premonition and her subconscious warning her that Robin's is in danger. I totally love it that the EQ in Regina is all riled up and protective of Robin.

I also did not see coming that she would ask Emma to track him down, although dang, why didn't we all think of that? :D So now I am wondering if we will see Robin in New York or maybe in Regina's dreams again next week.

I actually really loved the way they did the dream sequence, because it actually leads to more movement in the OQ direction. And I sense that we may see Regina contacting Robin next week... which is so, so exciting!

scififan2009 03-23-2015 04:19 AM

She sounded so happy when she saw Robin. Maybe next time she sees him it won't be in a dream.

My favorite scenes were the one where Regina tells August about page 23 and the dream. It means much in my opinion that Regina tells someone who she does not know very well about it and she is opening up to find out the truth about page 23 and to get Robin back. I am happy they gave us that dream because it showed how connected she and Robin are that she can feel when he is in danger and I hope too that next week they will show us Regina trying to make contact with him.

In so many ways, the relationship between Regina and Robin is turning out to be the deepest that exists on the show. That dream sequence... you guys, do you realize what this means for them?? The writers are actually giving us another glimpse of what being soulmates is! She sensed he's in danger and even the Evil Queen was there to protect him!!

The EVIL FRIGGIN QUEEN!! :thud: I'm flailing!!!

And yes, I LOVED that Regina confined in August!! Although I can't help but wonder, how the hell did he know about Robin?? When Regina asked him,he said that he remembered being the boy, meaning young Pinocchio... but Regina never showed Pinocchio page 23, or talked about Robin while he was a boy... So, what did that mean??

scififan2009 03-23-2015 05:33 AM

It would be nice to know where that page came from.

I think that it meant only that the boy Pinocchio saw Robin Hood and maybe him and Regina together in town and he recognized Robin in the picture of page 23 and knew Regina meant him. Maybe he was with Gepetto at the celebration for baby Neal in the finale of the 3rd season for example.

Chris - I saw Andrew Chambliss answered your question about August knowing about Robin and Regina... so cool he answered you!! So it's as some suggested, August knew of Robin Hood when he was Pinocchio because it was common knowledge Robin and Regina were together. You should post the tweets here so everyone can see the answer. :D

Absolutely! Here they are! ;)

Yes, please! I'm eager to read your ideas about this. Premonition? Protecting Robin from whom? "Good" Regina? Or what she represents?

Great tweets, phoenix_shine

I'm thinking Regina needs to discover that in order to move forward and be her best self/achieve her happy ending, she needs to embrace both the light and dark aspects of her character. Her darkness is a part of who she is, not just who she was, and even though I don't see her becoming the EQ (at least not in the traditional sense) again, I like the idea of her harnessing dark magic for good purposes. We've already seen her do that so many times (in Neverland, going under cover, that creepy possession magic she used on Snow), but I don't think she fully realizes the potential of having the ability to manipulate all forms of magic to protect the people she loves (Henry, Robin, Roland, various Charmings).

More immediately, I liked the very obvious contrast between her dream with Robin and her dalliance with Daniel in "The Stable Boy." One of the best things about Lana as an actress is her ability to use her voice to categorize Regina at different points in her life, and when she was running toward Robin, she sounded exactly like young, innocent, not-yet-evil Regina. But instead of Cora interfering to kill Robin, we had the EQ stepping in to save him from something. I think that distinction between the two "good" Reginas--young Regina and reformed Regina--is really important.

Now, I don't think the EQ is trying to rescue Robin from young Regina, per se, but maybe we're about to discover that Robin might have been in danger had they met in the tavern (from the king, perhaps?). Or alternatively, their relationship was destined to occur only after Regina learned to accept both her darkness and lightness, as it seems both the EQ and young Regina are equally invested in keeping him safe? This is a particularly attractive conclusion for me considering the EQ outfit they had her wear was the same one she had on in "Shattered Sight," when she was so insistent that Robin needed to fear the EQ.

Plus, it makes sense that the one person who never really held her past over her would be someone the EQ part of her psyche wants to protect.

So. Many. Questions.

Wow LC! Great post! :thud: Your thoughts on this are amazing!! I loved your take on the dream sequence and what it meant! The different voices and the wardrobe choice... very well spot on!!
