wardrobe and BTS production departments

The Once Upon a Time, wardrobe and production departments are largely responsible for the visual aspect of the show. This thread is an appreciation and disscussion for the sets, costumes, hair and makeup choices that turn fiction into a reality or vice versa.

No spoilers are allowed on this thread. So discussion is limited to the sets, costumes and other production choices on episodes that have already aired. Speculation on possible future sets or suggestions are allowed, but photos from production staff and crew are considered spoilers until the episodes air.

The Mayor's Office really is a beautiful set, and reminds me of three of my favorite sets from BtVS and ANGEL: Mayor Richard Wilkins' Office (BtVS, Season 3), the Hyperion Hotel (ANGEL Seasons 2, 3, and 4), and the Wolfram and Hart Law Offices (ANGEL Seasons 1-5).

costumes are great too!! the sets are always good. and I agree with you about the Angel sets. loved the ones you mentioned

The W&H Law Offices have a similar emotional aesthetic to Regina's Office, at least IMO, which helps in connecting the audience to the characters with which they're directly associated.

I also really like the costuming for the franchise, with my favorite outfits being Snow's 'bandit furs ensemble, the Jabberwocky's fur-leather and-leather 'coat-suit-dress', Emma's 'Sheriff's ensemble', and Rumple's 'Dark One' leathers.

I love the costumes on OUAT especially, I have to say. They've had some really gorgeous costumes, FTL ones in particular.

The details on this dress is extraordinary. And I still can't tell the color of the dress. Every screen shows a slightly different coloring - pale green, pale blue, even cream!

Agree on both plus the turnaround time is extraordinary. This is clearly not a 9-5 job! The work day is done when the dress is finished. Would love to read an interview with the staff and more BTS photos of them at work.

Regina's outfits amaze me the most. Some of them look painted on!

As intricate and beautiful as Regina's Evil Queen outfits are, I personally love the designs, cut, color, and fit of her suits and other practical Storybrooke outfits more. They're really extraordinarily selected, designed, and fit and, like her Office, really do fit who she is as a character.
