Have to admit this is true, although we only got one (1!) real Belle episode. In Dark Hollow, for a moment I thought they were writing Belle out of character--then I realized, OMG!! Yes, and if Kitsowitz weren't just going to handwave that ("It's so last season! We've moved on!") it might be possible to write a really interesting story in which that somehow gives Belle some power/influence over the wraith, which she uses to protect Regina from it. Because technically that thing should just be lurking around in FTL waiting to pounce on Regina the moment she appears....

Hee, I actually wrote something like this (or started to) back in S1. Regina arranged for Belle to be "rescued" from the asylum because she was holding her heart and wanted to use her as a spy and tool against Gold. (Frankly I was and am very disappointed in Regina for not taking Belle's heart. Hello! Obvious! Unless there's some magical reason why she couldn't, which would be nice to see.) So Belle was PRETENDING to be amnesiac and trying to undermine Regina at every turn, and Emma and MM took her in and Belle got a job as admin at the sheriff's office and passed on hints when she could, and Emma/Belle/Snow/Ruby were all girlfriends. And Gold was courting her and she was trying to resist so that Regina couldn't use her as a weapon.

No, several of us have noticed it.

Belle's hair this season (at least when not in dim potted-plant-land) is a bright Judy-Garlandish auburn. In Dark Hollow it was almost as red as Ariel's.

And the hairstyle Belle had in Dark Hollow and as Jungle!Belle is very similar to movie!Dorothy's after her visit to the Emerald City salon.

Does it mean anything? Probably not.

But it's quite noticeable.

Her hair is much redder. And yes, she, to me anyway, looks very much like Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz. And no, unfortunately, I don't think it means anything. That would actually give Belle something to do.

And I love the way she looks when she looks at Rumple. Just so fully of love.

With the blue dress and now the hair and the basket, for goodness sake, the resemblance is very striking. All she needs is a little dog, too.

It is not impossible that they could tie Belle into the mythology that way. It's just...not very likely. Even though Belle's parentage could actually be just an interesting sidenote to Wicked v. Evil; it wouldn't have to be the center ring. Oh well.

The way both Belle/Emilie and Rumple/Robert look at each other is just...

They are amazingly expressive actors. Though I guess this is more for the Rumbelle thread. Sorry! Got carried away.
