Depends on your definition of motherly, I guess, and I'm not sure that's a word I would personally use to describe their present day relationship in general, but post-season 2 Regina has been presented as protective of and willing to fight for Snow and her family on various occassions. Off the top of my head 3x12, 3x13, 3x16, 3x18, 3x20, large parts of 4b, and the first two episodes of season 5 come to mind. I stopped watching full episodes at some point this season and might have missed something in later parts of the arc, but maybe someone else can comment on them.

I don't find Regina's attitude towards Snow motherly either, I have to admit. But Regina does get protective of Snow on occasion. I think the gentlest I've seen Regina with Snow was in 3x19 when Snow had to crush Charming's heart. She displayed a lot of care and compassion in that scene. I wish we'd gotten more of those kind of scenes.
