maybe they are showing more fo the lesser moments

I would agree but if you check out the one I just posted for True North is has Hansel in Gretl and the compass so that one I think is very true to that episode. Oh, well ... I guess it's just their preference. They're all really well done though!

I find it interesting that he could have been tainted enough as the 'Dark One' to be committing and advising some of those most grievous acts; however, at the same time - still had conscious enough to want to get rid of this darkness. In some ways, it couldn't have fully consumed him so I'm wondering if the same case can be made for Rumplestiltskin?!

I believe the same case for Rumpel can be made.

Why would Regina . . . who had created everything about Storybrooke for the first curse, include that loophole that would place hiring the new sheriff out of her hands? That never made any sense to me. Unless this was nothing more than a literary device on Horowitz and Kitsis' parts to allow Emma to become sheriff.

I found it ironic that Emma had questioned the legality of Regina's adoption of Henry, yet she was breaking the law by hanging around Henry in the first place.

I wonder if Rumple's kid will show up again later on in the show.

This is one of my favorites from season one :D

confessor_meggy 12-14-2015 02:15 PM

One of mine too  And I loved the lot of "wait what"? that it gave me

The first dark one on the show what a story.

One thing that bothers me is why rumple got angry with Bae possibly not being his son. Milah was faithful at the time. She didn't become unhappy until he came back

This is a great episode too. So many feels! On the one hand, Rumple and Bae totally broke my heart in the flashback. On the other hand, I was impressed by Gold's cleverness in the present day. :thud:

Well, maybe that's exactly the reason. I mean, if someone claimed that my spouse has done something I know he'd never do, I'd get angry too. Especially if I was under the impression that the said spouse is dead. Slandering a dead person to his/her spouse is not very cool.

Did he get angry at that? I thought he was more hurt than angry at the possibility, but I don't remember the order of Zoso's words perfectly. I think he was hurt because Milah treated him badly right after he came back from the war, so I can understand being confused/doubting she ever loved him at all before that.

I love how in the episode you can't tell which one of them has the upper hand (Rumple or Emma). First you think both, than that Rumple won, then that Emma won, then that in the end Rumple one. And I also love that Emma in the end is like "Ok, this guy's so fishy" but she's also clearly impressed by how smart and calculating he is. No matter what side they were on, I always thought both of them always had a huge respect for the other, even being so different.

This is the episode that caused me to do a complete 180 on my attitude towards Gold/Rumple! I absolutely loved the story of why he became the Dark One. Up until this episode, I hated him. After the episode, I just felt incredibly sorry for him.

confessor_meggy 12-15-2015 04:07 AM

I think I hated to love him right until this. Then just plain loved him :D
