Rewatching Once Upon a Time and in season 2 while Snow and Emma were gone, Charming called her “Snow” multiple times so why did he switch to calling her “Mary Margaret” after she came back for 3 1/2 seasons? I can only guess it was her request because she told Zelena in season 3 that she was Mary Margaret in Storybrooke. But I wish they would have shown a scene with Snow saying she wanted Charming to call her Mary Margaret. Instead he got a lot of hate from some fans over it.

And don’t get me started in the unnecessary hate Snow got from some fans the second she quit devoting 100% of her life to Emma, and actually had a husband, friends and another kid. Or in other words she for a real life outside just being Emma’s mom. So a scene where Snow said wanted to be called Mary Margaret for Emma’s comfort would have avoided a lot of fandom nonsense towards both Snow and Charming.

I suppose there could be a cut scene where they addressed this. I suspect it was more the writers forgot about what she was being called, but I may be wrong.

It seems crazy that Snow should have gotten hate for that. Fans do react in strange ways sometimes it seems to me...

I understand your frustration, though. There's often been times I've wished a scene to be longer, more comprehensive or added in.

The show sadly often failed to have characters have important conversations like that. I also think it was Snow who asked him to call her Mary Margaret, and it may have been partly for Emma's sake, who knew her as Mary Margaret mainly.

That did occur to me too. Emma took some time to start feeling able to address her as 'Mom'.

Yeah. And calling her 'Snow' may have reinforced the whole fairytales-are-real aspect which Emma did take some time to adjust to. Still, would have been nice TO ACTUALLY SEE IT ADDRESSED ON THE SHOW. Sigh. Sorry. Still annoyed about that, and the many other should-have-been-had conversations that never happened.

I probably should not have brought it up. But I am rewatching season 2 and David is calling her Snow consistently even in the Netherworld and even while Regina, Rumple And Henry are Calling her Mary Margaret until he stops at episode 10 when they return. And the. He never does again until season 5.
