I think whoever the heart belongs to is dead, which makes me think... maybe it's an animal? I just hope it's not Graham's wolf buddy! :bawl:

True. If it was Gold, he'd have planned for the contingency, I think. But Regina is more about direct strikes, when all's said and done.

As for an animal's heart, that would only work with magic. I don't know how much biology training someone doing DNA testing has to have - maybe not enough to tell at a glance - but I do know gorillas, chimps, and orangutans - our closest relatives - all have 48 chromosomes compared to a human's 46. Any genetic scan that doesn't catch that shouldn't be in business.

If they were to use an animal's heart, I'd probably go with Ruby/Emma not being able to tell the difference and the heart never actually being tested by any outside lab (instead Gold or Regina faked the results).

If it is a possibility, then... why would Mr. Gold want to hurt her in any way anyhow?! :confused: She hasn't done a single thing wrong to him (nor has had any scenes with him period) so I can't see why Mr. Gold would want to put Kathryn's life at stake. :( poor girl!
