Am i the only who seems to think that the more we understand about Regina's motivations and actions/consequences, the more real she looks the more other fans of other characters on this fandom try and present her as just EVIL. If they had called her that in S1 one could argue that yes it might be true but after S2 i think people are just jealous that Regina is not one dimensional and the only way they can justify that evolution is by saying that she will always be Evil.

Yeah, I think you might be right. I might be saying something foolish here, but maybe the other fans are just jealous that Regina is such a complex character. She's someone with incredible backstory and one amazing and misterious mind. And it's such a lame excuse to say "she'll always be evil", right?

I think a part of her ( Regina ), now realizes that Cora is bad news to her and her relationship with Henry. When Regina found out about Cora's plan in the clock tower, she was shocked and when they went back to Regina's office, she looked at her mother differently.

I don't think it's Cora's plan that worries Regina, but her part in it. She now knows that Cora has no regard for her or Henry. That's the issue for her. She's only with Cora to get Henry back. She believed that Cora was more powerful and thus would have a better plan and a fresher perspective on accomplishing that. Now she realizes Cora has no plan to help her regain Henry so Cora has nothing to offer her and threatens to become so powerful that Regina might not be able to protect Henry in the future.

I don't mean to interrupt the conversation that's taking place. But I just want to ask you all something. I would like to update the Evil Queen and Regina Mills Scene of the Moment. We haven't really gotten a lot of the Evil Queen this season. Maybe a scene from the Queen of Hearts or that tiny EQ moment in The Outsider? I'll look for some gifs. The Regina Mills scene of the moment is slightly more tricky because there is so damn much that we could use.

Yeah, I don't think Regina planned for Johanna to die at all. That was an out of the blue response by Cora in the final moments. Regina was just counting on Snow's good nature to bend and finally yield into doing the 'right' thing, in order for them to achieve their ultimate goal: obtain the dagger. But that's what makes Cora an even more ruthless villain when it comes to power. Regina has killed and committed calculated agendas out of emotion, or personal based need for vengence, even when misplaced, and while not right, Cora is actually more callous in the sense that she does things, just to do them for power's sake. She's more ... emotionless.

Yes, the execution for this direction has been very poor. Like i said elsewhere, sometimes ideas look better on paper, or in your head, where there is a general idea on the sequence of events to play out but 'Regina's fall from redemption' has been handled very badly. It certainly hasn't helped garner any more sympathy nor understanding and I blame that on the rush writing job. This should have been a slower process, where conflict was much more evident and developed and allowed to play out more over the course of the season. We should have seen clear examples of Regina's changing vs. the growing conflict that arose over her mother's reentry into her life. Instead, because the writers didn't have enough time to do this, they flipped her like a 'switch' over to Cora's side and what I find sad is that even some other evil regal fans are turning on her character. :no: I was reading some posts on another forum. I don't want such a trend to grow because of bad writing, it's not fair to Lana or the character since they are not the problem at all.

Yeah, I think it's just a matter of preference. If a character is disliked, minds are usually made up and it doesn't matter what the writing does, it can be very difficult to sway a personalized opinion. Plus, I think some viewers prefer villains to be just that ~ the mere obstacles standing in the way of beloved protagonist characters, who ultimately need to be defeated, so good characters can have their happy ending at the end of the day.

I don't like certain characters sometimes, The Charmings being the main ones (they just get on my nerves so much sorry :lol:) but you don't see me going round and round always calling them names, always downgrading their roles on the story and actively aggravating their fanbase for the sake of a "feel good time". I don't like them i simply ignore them and focus on the ones i do like and have something constructive to talk about.

For example i love Rumple and like Belle enough, but i can't stand these Rumbelle fans, they pick one target and it's Regina. It's like what are they so afraid off? Focus on the things you like and let others enjoy their favourite characters arcs in peace.
