Yeah, I only remember him mentioning them to Zelena once. Something about how they used to make meat pies, and he always got the first bite.

Perhaps it was a case of being raised by them being not terrible, but not great either, so he's not bitter about it but doesn't remember it all that fondly either? That might explain why he doesn't talk much about it. It's often what eitehr makes a bad or good impression on us that really sticks with us.

Based on what Rumple told Zelena in 3x16, I think the spinsters treated him well but he just wasn't able to be truly happy because his father's betrayal had left him too broken.

Wonder if they'll take him in a whole new direction and let Robert play some new characteristics. He's certainly versatile enough for that.
