Actually, Austinphile said she didn't mind the line, so that is a baseless accusion and unfair. I was the one who commented on not liking it, and explained why - it has nothing to do with disliking Emma, simplying wanting that line to be a Snowing thing. In fact, Emma is one of my favourite characters and the Charming family dynamic is one of my main loves on the show.

So thanks for the insult directed at me, I guess. If you have future issues with me, feel free to take them to PM.

Also, to make a mod point.

This is an appreciation thread for all FOUR characters and their dynamic. It is not an appreciation thread for three of them, or two of them, or one of the couples or make it all about the two couples. When this thread was requested back in the day, I explicitly stated that and made it clear it shouldn't be about comparing couples - especially unfavorably, putting one down to prop up the other, but in general too - or anything along that vein. If you wish only to show appreciation for one or both of the couples, they both have appreciaiton threads where you can do so. This is not the place to make digs at either of the four, be it about jobs or not working or otherwise. Again, this is an appreciation thread for ALL FOUR and the dynamic between them.

I just point out what I see here, people saying Emma/CS "steeling" Snowing scenes. if there's a parallel moment I see the same reaction as Emma saying "I will find you" "you two share a heart so we will" pretty much putting down/insulting CS like they're just a recycling couple and Im not quoting anyone in particular but thats what I get for what I read here (and tumblr)

I love both of these parings, I love seeing Emma trying to accomplish a relationship just like her parents have and thats a great thing for her character that she loves a man so much to the point to share her heart with, just like her mom did with her dad/go to hell LITERALLY, for him, just like Snow would do if the same thing happen to Charming.

its not a copycat storyline or whatever people trying to do just to put down CS.

Lets all get back to what this thread is about! :)

And what I see - and a few others who have commented - here (and on Tumblr for sure) is often Snowing being put down as the inferior version now replaced as a upgraded main couple by Hook and Emma, being used as a check list of stuff Hook and Emma is going to do rather being valued as a couple in its own right, Snow/Ginny often being left out, and the notion of parallels being used to make anything Snowing does to talk about Hook and Emma instead. It might not be intended to be read that way, and I know I have certainly never deliberately insulted or intended insult CS in any way, which you seem to be saying I am doing. So clearly, people have very different experiences of what is going on in this thread. And quite frankly, this was part of what I was afraid of when this thread started. Comparing couples just never ever goes well and will end up with people feeling insulted or hurt.

So, perhaps we shall all try better to have this thread focus on all four of them and not do the comparisons between couples. It's clearly upsetting many, and I would like to be a positive thread. It is about appreciaiton, after all.

For me i use this thread as the 4 ppl and their scenes, or even with the 3 of them in a scene - like Hook, Snow, Emma, or Charming, or Charming, Hook, Emma, or Henry in the scene with them too. (Since Charming, Emma, Snow, Henry have their own thread) or unless where one the two couple talking about the other person or something. And even some parallels between them/gif sets

And yes i do include Henry here if he is with the 4 of them or 3 of them or something. I kinda do see this thread as not just 4 ppl, but like a extended family with the 4 (and Henry) pretty much like in the show.

I also do not delibrately leave out Ginny. If she is left out its due to her either not being in a scene much/BTS/photoshoots or not being there like the SDCC and Nerd HQ. That's about it.

I like to use this thread for that. Because yes i do these 4 as family included Henry. - Family, Individuals, Couples, Team etc. And i like to think we can include all that in.
My intention of opening this thread since the first thread was that (yes group dynamic but they also more ways connected in the show, and their progression through seasons is way more then when this thread started, and i like to be able to share that too)


Hopefully we can get this thread back to focus.

for me its not compering or competing who is better, who did it first. its about Emma looking up to her parents and have a relationship just like them "I will find you/you two share a heart so we will" and few other moments like that, and the interesting parallel between them from the writers to the audience.

like if there's a CS wedding and the evil queen is still around I can totally see her crashing their wedding just like she did to Snowing and why, no to copy the same scene, because the Evil Queen will hate the idea of a second generation is getting a happy ending and she still doesnt have her revenge

and it sucks Ginny is being left out, I guess with a new born and a toddler was just complicate for her to attend SDCC. maybe her character is taking a bit of sideline because of the pregnancies (thats what Im assuming ). maybe this year we're gonna have the Charmings kicking some butts :D

I think that meta is more suited for the CS appreciation thread given that it actually talks about Captain Swan being more transended and propelled to new heights and more remarkable than Snowing, and is mostly actually about CS.

I saw both couples and Charming family overall hence i posted. :)

She actually said they transcended Snowing? That's not even remotaly true. :rolleyes:
