Ok prediction for season finale:
I think Nick will write every character into his book and he would realize he has feelings for jess while writing her into it. Then he will again have to leave to be with Reagan (maybe even moving out again) and Jess might need to go somewhere too (maybe to England if Ryan pops up? I don't see it happening with Robby tbh and becaıse of what I aforementioned is still true for me). Then Nick comes back for Jess in the season finale (parallel to him coming from NO in the premiere) but will Jess be there?

But I also love the tension. So yeah I think it's gonna get more intense
