Talking about Tiramisu. When I ask my daughters where they want to go for our holiday one of them always wants to go to the same campsite near Venice, just because she thinks they have the best Tiramisu there

I'll definitely try to make tiramisu at some point because it is really good. I've got a list of things that eventually I'm working up the courage to try. The funny thing is that usually once I make something that once seemed daunting to me it ends up being so simple. I was afraid of bread for the longest time. Now I don't think anything of it to make a loaf and we haven't had store bought bread in forever.

Tell your daughter that if she want to eat a really delicious dessert then she’d try cakes from southern Italy: pastiera napoletana (shortbread cake filled with a paste of ricotta cheese, boiled wheat, cinnamon, orange blossom water and candied fruits) and cassata sicilana (sponge cake moistened with liqueur, layered with goat ricotta cheese, candied fruits, chocolate and covered with marzipan, icing sugar and candied fruits). They’re really fattening but anyone could die happy after tasting these cakes!

Wow, so many of you guys seem to be great cooks! I don't think I am as good a cook as any of you, I'm awlays worried I'll end up messing it all up. I do the basic things, like Victoria sponge cake and cupcakes. I've moved on to some brownies and cookies too.
I do want to try bread, it just seems so rewarding! It's really cool that you make your own bread Tracie.

I'm really impressed that you are all so great at cooking I only can cook that basics, I'm really not a good cook and I have to admit I'm often too lazy I wish it were different...maybe one day

I far prefer baking to cooking. There are some things that I still can't get right like a simple tomato sauce for pasta. Meatballs are another one that I haven't been able to get.

My son isn't a fan of tomatoes or tomato sauce either. He eats his pasta plain or with cheese on it.

Wow Tracie, making your own bread is something I admire. I have never tried that. I have never made pasta myself either, but those are two things I would love to be able to do.

I love cooking and baking basically, and I am always trying out new things. My two favorite cakes to bake would be Red Velvet Cake and an Oreo Cheesecake.

I've tried making our typical regional homemade pasta once or twice with disastrous results...I guess cooking is not in my blood!

So many good cooks! I agree on the whole I'm more of an eater than a cook but I do like to try it. Though it's nice when get something right and can say I did that

I've heard of red velvet cake a few times but I've never made it or ate it but they do look amazing and it has got a great name! And Oreos are great biscuits, I'm sure they would make a great cheesecake! I'm getting so hungry talking about all these nice things

Anni My landlord just has quite a few things that he should have got fixed by now which he hasn't so there's still a few things wrong with the flat, they may even have to take up the living room floor!
