I mean, I still felt like there were things that didn't get the focus that they deserved... but that was done to the writers simply not going there, not because they didn't have enough time

Yea, I agree. There could have been more that we should have seen, but I think the writers did a good job making the most of the 10 episodes they did get to assure that we got a good ending.

Yeah, the way they ended it was great because even though it was the series finale and it ended awesome, if it HAD come back for another season they could have picked up where they left off and it they wouldn't have struggled to continue where they left off.
