The Hop



Well, you can rock it, you can roll it
Do the stomp and even stroll it at the hop
When the record starts a-spinnin'
You calypso when you chicken at the hop
Do the dance sensation that is sweepin' the nation at the hop

Henry Robinson founded The Hop in 1954. He wanted his small southern town to have a nice quality diner where kids could come to after school and keep out of trouble. At first things were slow. That is until Henry manage to book the infamous Elivs in a concert. The diner started filling up the day before the concert. It was packed full an hour before it. Henry had never been happier. The concert was a sucess and so was the diner. From then on, it's been nearly packed with kids after schools and on the weekend.

Well, you can swing it you can groove it
You can really start to move it at the hop
Where the jumpin' is the smoothest
And the music is the coolest at the hop
All the cats and the chicks can get their kicks at the hop

Today, fifty years after The Hop was founded, it's still going strong. It's been keep in shape and manange by five generations of Robinson's. The current owner, Jeffery Robinson, has kept up the tradition of having his kids work at the diner. His tweny-four year old daughter, Sabrina, has worked there ever since she was sixteen. However, this is the first time in fifty years that there will not be a male Robinson memeber to take over the diner when the current owner dies. Ergo, Jeffery must find a husband for his daughter. Someone whom he can trust to over take the diner when he dies.

The Plot

Basically, it's a mixture of The Bachlorette and Roswell without the sci-fi stuff - just the diner stuff. It's just an rp about life in a diner and the search for a husband for Sabrina. The main plot focus isn't even just about finding Sabrina a husband. It's the diner in general and everything that goes on in it.

Bio: She's the girl that everyone in town knows. She grew up in the diner so everyone who is a regular attender there knows just about every single detail about her life. Not just from her father telling them but from Sabrina herself telling them because that's just how she is. She's very open. She had a realitively normal childhood except while more kids ran around their back yards, she ran around in the diner. She was one wild little girl and that didn't change as she grew up. She's still as wild as ever. Although she's daddy's little girl and she's never found a reason to rebel like other girls have.
Relationships: She's friends with most of the girls at the diner. Althrough her best friends would have to be Dani and Jenna. She feels she can tell Dani anything since they've been friends since they were kids. As far as the guys go... she likes all as friends but she has no idea who she likes as more. Not yet anyway. She's pretty good friends with Nate because he's been The Hop cook for years. Other than him, she's casual friend with the others, but she gets along with all of them.

Bio:Mike grew up in a single parent home with his alcholic father. He worked most of the afternoons to stay away from his dad and it seemed to work.He went on to college and just recently graduated with a master's degree in buisness. He has some ideas of mabye opening a childrens center with his degree and then where the disadvantage kids live they could have a place to go to get away from any harm they feel at home.

Jimmy grew up with his parents hating each other. His Mom was a total work-a-holic, and his dad a drunk. His Mom blamed his father and him for holding her back. His dad was just drunk all the time. When he was eight, Jimmy descovered painting. It was like an ascape for him. Stading in frount of an empty canvus, suddenly all his problems dissapeared, and he was... free. When he was 17, though, his dad began to beat him and his mother. Jimmy needed more than just a canvus in his room to save him. So he started going to the Hop, the local cafe. Where he first saw Sabrina. Since then, even after leaving home, Jimmy hasn't gone a day without going there.
What he thinks about Sabrina: Jimmy thinks Sabrina is amazing. She's beautiful, graceful and compleatly captevating. He has the biggest crush on her, and has for ever. He hasn't talked to her, apart from ordering, but just watches her. She's the reason he goes to the hop every day.

She still lives with him, but they are no longer an item. Young love never lasts. Billie never expected to do well at school. Just after she moved in with her boyfriend, she dropped out of school and started working at The Hop, hoping to raise enough money to move away from the town she has grown to love. She still doesn't try to achieve to her best ability. Her philosophy is that if she can get by with minimal effort, that's the way to go.

When he was 17, though, his dad began to beat him and his mother. Jimmy needed more than just a canvus in his room to save him. So he started going to the Hop, the local cafe. Where he first saw Sabrina. Since then, even after leaving home, Jimmy hasn't gone a day without going there.
What he thinks about Sabrina: Jimmy thinks Sabrina is amazing. She's beautiful, graceful and compleatly captevating. He has the biggest crush on her, and has for ever. He hasn't talked to her, apart from ordering, but just watches her. She's the reason he goes to the hop every day.
