We need to see Fred Willard again as Phil's dad. Not only is he one of my favorite funny guys, but he was so well cast as Phil's dad. They looked like they could be father and son! Bring him back more in season 3!

FW was hilarious as Phil's dad!

I love how they are actually continous with their guest stars and give them actual storylines.

I would love to see him again! And how cool would it be if we got to see Phil's mom too?

One thing I love about this show and the people who run it is that they don't rely heavily on guest stars, when they invite someone they are pretty much an integral part of the storyline but still they don't have much air time.

Fred Williard is perfect as Phil's dad. It just fits doesn't it? All their inside jokes and little pranks on each other. I also really loved James Marsden in his role, he was utterly adorable, the fact that he was homeless and living in Cam and Mitch's playhouse!!

I'm glad that they cast FW as Phil's dad since they look so similar and the way they act was perfect.. I'm hoping that they are plan to bring him back..

And I love Mitchell/Clarie's mother since she def crazier whenever she sees Gloria.. I'm hoping that she already over it..

So is this where I can talk about my love for Dylan, or does he get his own thread soon?

Also, Ed Norton!

Yes they have an integral part but the focus is still very much on the main cast. These writers are seriously incredible.

So true. See, unlike some other shows that have to rely on guest stars and just fill up episodes with them, our cast is AMAZING. The show doesn't even neeeed guest stars to boost ratings or anything like some other shows do too, but the producers still give us a treat now and then. I'm sure it's actually a bigger treat for our cast than us, even!

Yep, we don't need guest stars to boost our cast, because our cast is already so freaking amazing!

I agree about Fred Willard. He is perfect as Phil's dad. I hope we get to meeet Phil's mom too.

I think in the OP we should put who the guest stars are on the show for the past two seasons. I don't remember much but...

Fred Willard, Shelley Long, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Nathan Lane, James Marsden, Ed Norton, Elizabeth Banks, Minnie Driver, Matt Dillon...
