The Wolf And The Lamb

Quote:

Cesare’s (Francois Arnaud) diplomatic mission to France is a success: guided through the complexities of the French court by his old advisor Machiavelli (Julian Bleach), Cesare makes an ally of Archbishop d’Amboise, a noble wife – Charlotte d’Albert – as well as a pledge of a military alliance against Milan and the Borgias’ enemies. Back in Rome, the seductive and dangerously insane Bianca (Melia Kreiling) takes her own life, prompting Alexander and Cardinal Sforza (Peter Sullivan) to conspire to repay Gonzaga’s cruel plot. Lucrezia travels to Naples accompanied by her husband, with Micheletto offering protection. King Ferdinand (Matias Varela) remains steadfast in his determination that little Giovanni will not be recognised at court. Upon learning this, Lucrezia plots against him with a recipe of poisonous mushrooms, but Micheletto will handle the matter on his own.

Thanks for the new episode discussion thread, Arinna!

Now that the episode has been uploaded onto ON DEMAND, I can finally sum up my thoughts on this episode:

Pope Alexander: "You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! Now evidently my cycloptic colleague informs me that that cannot be done. Ah, would you remind me what I pay you people for, honestly? Throw me a bone here! What do we have?"

Micheletto: "Lampreys."

Pope Alexander: "Riiiight."

Micheletto: "They are mutated lampreys."

Pope Alexander: "Are they ill-tempered?"

Micheletto: "Oh, very!" :lmao:

Quick correction to the title, shouldn't it be 3 x 05 :)

Thanks for the new thread. I still have yet to watch it

BL.Arinna_1982 05-06-2013 12:38 PM

Just did it.

PhoenixRising 05-06-2013 12:38 PM

Hey, Renae!  I just saw it on ON DEMAND. Do you have that, or will you have to wait until it airs live next week?

NYPoster 05-06-2013 12:41 PM

I have it onDemand :) will probably watch it today or tomorrow. Part of me kind of want to wait until Sunday though

PhoenixRising 05-06-2013 12:43 PM

They count On Demand ratings, so there should be no problem with you watching it today.

Seriu 05-06-2013 12:45 PM

Do both! Double the rating :)

Ok so no one has mentioned what they liked of the ep?
I liked quite a lot actually :D

So let's start with the basics..

Caterina being a BOSS
Cesare's horse bowing when they get to France. He's a cool horse!
Cesare's mega awkward bow at the French King lol
Sebastian trying to carry Holliday and having obvious problems doing so, I need that blooper in my life.
Vanozza showing up at least for 5 sec.
Lucrezia/Micheletto. ALL THEIR SCENES WERE PERFECT.
Charlotte/Cesare dancing scene is one of my favorites.
French queen slapping Cesare and Charlotte laughing at him.
Micheletto has a heart.. and he loves Giovanni. IT IS KNOWN.
Wedding scene, super fancy and nice and beautiful music.
French fangirls. BEST THING I swear.
Cesare striptease.
Bed scene my favorite from the episode.
Ferdinand dying in a horrible and painful way. WIN WIN.
Ascanio being a boss too.

Seriu 05-06-2013 01:24 PM

I liked exactly the same things.

I was nice to see so much smiling Cesare.
And the bed scene...his face...the emotion...OMFG
And the music...should seriously win every award possible....:bawl::dj::D

Was nice to see Machiavelli again :)

And the French court was beautiful, so much costume porn I could faint. So exotic, I loved the more medieval look and the big head dresses.

How it is that this show just keeps getting better and better is beyond me.

DGSAFDMD 05-06-2013 01:30 PM

OMG I forgot to mention Machiavelli/Cesare scene, it was totally in my top 5!

Nayawk 05-06-2013 03:47 PM

The continued Machiavelli/Cesare bromance is just fantastic.

Micheletto looking out for Lucrezia was nice but I really wanted to see her get her poison on. As always the fact she is so comfortable with him is testament to how dark Lucrezia really is.

I watched the Cesare/Charlotte sex scene through my fingers, what can I say I am spoiled from Cesare/Lucrezia and now I really don't want to see him bed anyone else ;) That said I do like the fact they are both being honest and that she asks him who he loves and his face falls a little for a moment.

Kind of getting sick of the Pope sexcapades, can't we go back to the impotent storyline...pleeeese?

I just loved this episode. One of my favorite moments was when Rodrigo (I refuse to call that jerk the pope any more) told told Lucrezia they would care for Giovanni like he was their own. And a mighty fine job they have done as parents.

DGSAFDMD 05-06-2013 04:22 PM

:lmao: and the crazy Bianca almost hurts Gio too.. like wth?
