I understand what you mean about Manfred and Fiji, Linda. I just meant that since both their powers involve communicating with the dead, they may be a bit too similar. I like a couple that has commonalities but also differences where they complement each other and provide something the other doesn't have. So do you really prefer Manfred with Olivia? Because it seemed like you were about to say Fiji. But yeah, that's the reason I prefer Manfred with Olivia, because they have different personalities and they clash. There's a lot of chemistry there and a lot of spark to their scenes. And you're right, the Fiji/Bobo thing does seem more like it's the main love story on the show to be honest. A lot more so than the whole Creek thing.

I definitely get what you mean Alex, sometimes opposites attract and often a relationship between 2 very different people can be beneficial in the sense that they should be able to complement each other. And sometimes relationships between 2 people who have a lot in common can also be equally beneficial, it really just depends.

But even if NBC renews MT for a second season, the chances of Manfred breaking up with Creek and hooking up with either Olivia or Fiji is very slim, since Olivia has already married Lem and Fiji is now officially dating Bobo. Although I would be open to the idea of Manfred dumping Creek for a new girl...in the original novels, Manfred had actually dated a different girl and Creek was originally just a minor character who only appeared in the first book. Why couldn't the producers of the series just follow the damn book?

Yes, that's also true. The damn books are canon and they'll probably wanna keep the couples the way they are. However, I'd like to mention that the show is based on the Charlaine Harris novels, and she's the writer of the Southern Vampire Mysteries that True Blood was based on. And Arinna can tell you that True Blood didn't exactly stick with the established couples either, so perhaps there's a chance, who knows? And you're right, if Creek is only a minor character in the books there's no reason to keep her around on the show.

Yes I know MT is based on novels written by the same author who wrote the 'True Blood' novels and yes I'm also aware that the True Blood TV series also changed a lot of things that were different to the novels. I've read the original book that True Blood was based on and it annoys me so much that they had changed so many things in the series. I have the same feeling about the MT series straying too far away from the original novels, especially about Creek's character, she's so annoying and pointless in the series and have absolutely no chemistry with Francois whatsoever, the producers of the series should've just remained faithful to the books and made her a minor character like in the books. And I agree, I also saw some sexual tension and chemistry between Manfred and Olivia...even though I also like Manfred with Fiji, but as I mentioned before, I still prefer Fiji with Bobo more, so yeah at the end of the day I'm leaning more towards Manfred & Olivia also

Hi, Linda! I totally understand what it feels like to watch Hollywood screw up the source material in TV and movies, especially when you're a fan. So what changes did the show make to the story that you didn't like?

Yes, I also find it annoying that Creek isn't that important in the books but they make her Manfred's main love interest on the show. But maybe she's just around for that first season and they'll do something different with Manfred later.

Wow, so now you're on board with me when it comes to Manfred and Olivia? Nice. And thanks for that pic of Francois and Arielle! I hope we hear something soon because I'd love to see more Manfred/Olivia scenes. But that would mean breaking up Olivia and Lem. That'll be interesting since he's a vampire.

For the most part I actually love the series at it is, the only real problem I have with it is Creek's character...I have yet to read the original novels that MT was based on, but I have been told by some people who have read the books that Creek only had a small role in the book and that unlike in the series version, Creek actually knew about her brother's secret from the beginning in the book and was actually helping him cover it up, then she left Midnight with her family after her brother's secret was exposed in the first book. So it sounds like Creek's character was originally more sinister or at least more antagonistic in the book than she was portrayed in the series. I wish they had just remained faithful to the books at least in terms of Creek's character and get rid off her from the show, she's just so boring and redundant in the series it's no wonder her character was so minor and only appeared in the first book. But I have doubts that she would leave the show if they renew MT for a second season, considering the fact that at the end of S1 she stayed in Midnight and was still very much dating Manfred. If NBC do decide to renew MT for a second season, I hope they break Manfred & Creek up and he dates someone else in S2, maybe introduce a new character who will later become Manfred's new love interest? Francois' lack of chemistry with Sarah Ramos and Ramos' very wooden acting really ruins any scenes with them together for me, they just seem so awkward and forced and unconvincing together and it makes their scenes together so cringeworthy to watch
And yes I prefer Manfred with Olivia...but like I said before, only because I prefer Fiji with Bobo, but I still like Fiji with Manfred too.

And thanks for posting the trailer Arinna the movie looks interesting
