Uhm... I'm coming here to make a note that J/C in the books are quite different from the show, in the show it looks like Cersei only uses Jaime and never really cared for him and Jaime does stupid things and even has a scene that looks very much like rape in the show when NONE of that happens in the books.

In the books it is noted how "disappointed" Cersei is when he becomes a better person and doesn't do everything she wants him to, and you always see how Cersei wishes they were equals, meaning why she has to be sold to a king or a prince because she's a woman but Jaime doesn't have to be. Cersei expresses also a lot during the altar scene that the show made into a rape scene in the books, declaring that she does indeed love him but "it can never be" also when she's by herself remembering her wedding she also remembers how happy she was... until she saw Jaime, meaning she did feel bad for him, felt bad to be with someone other than him, she does care for him a lot.

Also about C/J only being about lust, again you could think that about the show mostly from Cersei's end, but she literally spends her wedding night with Jaime instead of her husband not only because she rather be with him but because she realizes her now husband doesn't really love her and Jaime does. Jaime does so many stupid things for Cersei out of love, there is no doubt that he indeed loves her very much, she does too, but she is also jealous of him, has issues with him, finds him weak at times, etc.

But of course is not perfect, not as romantic and eternal as C/L in the borgias, but let's not forget C/J are also older, they've been together for many years and maybe if we saw clips of them as teenagers or as 20-something year olds, it'd be more like C/L and less like what they are now.

Hi, May! Thanks for all that info about J/C. I never read the books so it's nice to hear about them. To be honest, I was mostly referring to them early in the series. I did notice that Cersei did spend her wedding night with Jaime on the show, and that the past few seasons have deepened their relationship, so it does seem like the show is trying to do better by them.

I don't trust the show since season 4, they have managed to pretty much ruin Jaime and change their relationship a lot... I don't know, I ship them I guess because they represent Jaime/Cersei and I see them and remember their books versions and that works? but not when I actually remember how their storyline has been handled...

Actually is hard to find all the quotes from their books versions nowdays cause when you search their names all you get is the show unfortunately, but here's a video that uses different actors as their "young versions" and it uses book quotes as text so you get an idea:

Not turning it into nothing, I was responding to your comments on J/C and comparisons with C/L if you read my first post I talk about both.

Been here a while, Alex knows I ship both and I sent the video to him so he understands what I was trying to explain before that's all. If it bothers you that I'm talking about them maybe you guys shouldn't mention them either?

Actually I compared CL to CJ at the beginning and I was like, see they have the incest there, why we don't have it here? And there's no problem, May. Do you guys know any new CL vid or something else? Maybe a new fanfic or something?

Hi, Linda! It's okay, Linda. Our conversation was about how Cesare and Lucrezia are in contrast to Jaime and Cersei with regards to how these TV shows depict incestuous brother/sister couples, and the differences between the two which can lead to audiences seeing the two couples differently. And explaining why Cesare and Lucrezia tend to get a different reaction, perhaps more romanticized, than J/C from GoT, that's all. So believe me, we're keeping it on C/L.
