Me too. I think they released stills of the characters that the audience could guess where they were going to be.

And I'm liking Davos on the show so far. Which is good, in the books his chapters are so boring.

To be fair, I haven't reread his chapters. But I remember them being a huge drag to get through. And I don't think I'm alone, that seems to be the opinion among a lot of book fans.

Liam on the ending:

Quote:
It would be dishonorable to stay on longer than we should. There’s a portion of me that will miss it dearly, and it will probably read Liam ‘Game of Thrones’ Cunnigham on my headstone. But it was time to get out and wrap up that story… People deserve the end of that story and to not drag it out just because there’s a book to be made. I think it’s very honorable what they’re doing.

I can see that sometimes POVs and writing can go on a much slower pace than movies/shows so it can be a drag

I agree with him! I would hate if they just started to stall things for no reason other than to keep the show on (that's when good shows turn into a boring one), I just wished they didn't rushed the last 2 seasons, because if season 7 is any indication, they really could use a bit more time to get storylines done properly

I didn't find season 6 to be rushed at all, actually it was literally perfect imo. But season 7 was a bit rushed indeed. But it only had seven eps. Too little time.

I haven't gotten to Seasons 6 and 7, so I can't comment on those. But I have a feeling S8 is going to be more of the same. And to be honest, I'm seeing some of those problems in the first 2 seasons too. I'm assuming it just gets worse over time.

As for Davos in the books, yeah his chapters were a drag. I'll admit the show is better in some ways. And the Dragonstone part of the show is an improvement over the books for me. But I'm sure there are fans of both who disagree.

Well I didn't think the show got worse over time, actually mostly better (besides season 5). But I didn't read much of the books and the little I did I didn't like.

I meant season 7 and 8 (the last 2 seasons of the show), not season 6.

Oh, ok. I can only comment in S1 and S2. And I'm already seeing some rushed storylines and cut corners. So like I said, I can see it getting worse as time goes on. And I feel that's true of a lot of shows, not just GoT, a lot of them have pacing problems. That doesn't mean I dislike the show. I actually love it and think it's great. I also love the books, but they also have a lot of problems.

And I feel like with S8, the time it's taking is because of post production rather than the story. So I'm not expecting a great ending.

Anyways, to bring this back to Davos and Liam...I love how well he seems to know the GoT/ASOIAF universe.

Let's hope for the best

Liam is so excited whenever he talks about GOT, it's adorable And I like how Davos is very grounded and has a good sense of right/wrong

The actor who played Stannis said he didn't understand what was going on on the show most of the time. And he said Liam would have to explain it to him.
