I love this thread. Wish we could see more of Jim. I missed him in season 6 and glad he made an appearance for their wedding. His presence was so touching and sweet. I love when he pulled her arm gently when she paused before walking down the aisle.

Glad you guys approve of our new thread. Caitlin and I discussed it and agreed that it would be a good idea.

I figured since the Rick/Alexis thread is all ready called "father/daughter", I would give these two the title of "family justice" considering that Beckett is a cop and her dad is a lawyer (and Johanna was also a lawyer) so it seemed fitting

I've just completed the icons so I'll have those up in 2 hours since I'm headed to the gym right now.

Adding the two of you and whoever wants to be added in the time I'm gone, I'll add when I get back

I definitely approve . I really love their relationship. I sometimes think that Castle forgets that Beckett is also a daughter and whatever he would do as a dad, Jim would do likewise. I love Jim/Castle chats. I love the scene when he goes to Castle and not Becketts boyfriend when he was worried about her.

Yeah I love their relationship too. Despite the drinking that occurred after his wife's death, Jim seems (as we've witnessed) like he was a great dad to Kate as she grew up.

That was really cool of Jim to do. He knew his daughter well enough that confiding in a boyfriend, though Josh knew about her mother's death as did all the others most likely, he knew that Rick was the one exception for Kate and that Rick was the only one who could help her through it.

Through all her rantings she made about Castle. Her dad knew which guy he was to trust and go to.

I guess that is how he coped with the death of his wife, I don't hold it against him. We all grieve in different ways, I am happy that he got sober and that Beckett had a hand in that. He does seem like a great father and obviously remains a steady figure in her life. My only beef is that we don't see enough of him haha!!

Yeah I don't either. From what's been inferred, or maybe I'm reading too much into it, but by the way Beckett talks about that time period Jim didn't seem like an angry, abusive drunk so thank the cosmos for small miracles.

LOL yeah that's my only issue to. I've always wanted more of him

We do know he went over for Thanksgiving in S6 but I would have loved to have seen that.

Yes, I remember that. Alexis said something that Beckett's dad just called and that he was on his way but we never got to see it. I won't hold my breath hoping we'll see him again this season but it definitely would be a treat if we did.
